I’m blind.
Not physically, of course.
My eyes work just fine.
I can see just as well as the next person.
But I haven’t been able to see anything since birth.
That’s right, you heard me right.
I was born blind.
Just like how some people are born with only one arm or one leg.
I was born without sight.
But that hasn’t stopped me from seeing the world more clearly than anyone else.
Just because I can’t see using my eyes doesn’t mean I can’t see at all.
I can see using my other senses.
I can hear a pin drop from a mile away.
I can smell a rat from the other side of the forest.
And I can feel even the slightest vibration in the air.
Using those three senses, I have developed something even better than sight.
That’s right, I can see even better than most people with sight.
But this world isn’t fair to people like me.
It’s much easier for people with sight to get almost any job they want.
Which is why I ended up at the Academy of Magic and Combat.

I stood among my peers in the grand hall, the air thick with anticipation.
The headmaster’s voice echoed through the room, his words like a symphony in my mind.
"Welcome, students, to the magical duel challenge. Let us begin."
I tilted my head slightly to the side, focusing on the vibrations of the room.
Marcus shifted beside me, his movements like a gentle breeze.
He was always eager and ready for battle.
Lila’s presence was like a calm storm, her confidence palpable as she stood opposite us.
The names of the students were called, each syllable a note in my mind.
I listened carefully for my own name, waiting for that familiar resonance that echoed within me.
And then it came, my name echoing through the hall like a bell.
I stepped forward, feeling the weight of expectation from the crowd.
