I got home from work to find my wife sitting on the couch with 2 glasses of wine in front of her and a book open on her lap.

She looked up at me as I came in and smiled.

"Hi, hon"

I said, dropping my keys to the side table and sitting down beside her.

"Hi"

she said, passing me a glass of wine.

I took a sip and kicked off my shoes letting out a sigh.

"It was a good day. Thena came over and we talked about her prom dress. She's so excited."

I nodded, taking another sip.

"Yeah, she's going to look great. I'm glad we could do that for her."

My sister had just turned eighteen and was graduating from high school this spring.

My wife and I had offered to buy her prom dress and take her to get it this weekend.

She's always looked up to me and I was happy to help.
