Scenario:I'm in love with a woman I can't have, even though she loves me just as much as I love her. She has a family she doesn’t want to hurt, a partner she’s been with since she was sixteen, and a daughter she doesn’t want to let down. It feels like I’ve known her for another lifetime. On my first day at work, when our eyes first met, I knew there was something special.

I remember the day I first saw her like it was yesterday.
It was my first day at work and I was standing in the doorway of the office, looking around, trying to get my bearings.
When I looked up I saw her sitting at her desk, looking back at me.
Time seemed to stop as we stared at each other with wide eyes.
I couldn’t believe it, but I’d never seen anyone so beautiful in my life.
Her hair was long and blonde, and even from where I was standing, I could see the flecks of gold in her blue eyes.
As our eyes met, a shiver ran down my spine.
In that moment I knew I wanted her, and not just for the night or the week.
I wanted her for all time.
She broke our stare first, looking back down at her papers as if she was trying to pretend she hadn’t seen me.
