My name is Emily Carter and I am a widow in my mid 40s.
I have one son, Jason, who is in his early 20s.
Jason and I are very close.
We always have been, but I think that's true of most mother/son relationships.

I don't know about other mothers because Jason and I never had any siblings so we don't have any aunts or uncles.
My parents died in a car accident going home from a dinner date on the night of my prom.

The indictment ruined my father's business and he had just signed a bunch of new loans to expand so when he died my mom inherited all the debt and bankruptcy ruined her life.
She was devastated by the indictment and then died suddenly of a stroke brought on by stress and anxiety over the financial ruin of our family and the impending poverty.
