The house was being robbed.
I sat up in bed, my heart pounding.
Goosebumps broke out on my arms.
I rubbed them down and listened hard.
I could hear the slight unzipping of a backpack, the clinking of silver as it was being tossed into the bag.
They were in my brother's room.
Marcus would be pissed if he knew they took his laptop.
I smiled and crept from my bed to the door.
