I woke to the sound of my cell phone ringing.
Damn it, Iād had just about enough of that blasted thing.
It had woken me up at the crack of dawn every day this week, and now it was doing it again.
Well, not really "again," because today was Saturday, and it shouldnāt be waking me up at all.
I rolled over and looked at the clock on my nightstand.
It was just after seven.
What the hell kind of person calls someone at this time on a Saturday?
Unless something was wrong.
Oh God, something was wrong!
I pushed myself up on my elbows and reached for the phone.
It wasnāt in its usual place, so I looked around and saw it on my dresser, which was across the room.
Damn it!
I flopped back onto the bed, but then I heard it ringing again.
