Skittles

Scenario:Skittles and the Soldiers of Righteousness Two decades ago, in the heart of a city that had long forgotten the essence of community, the City of the New Jerusalem Church emerged as a beacon of hope. Their first ministry took root in a homeless neighborhood, where the echoes of despair were met with the sweet sound of the Gospel. Pastor Joseph, a man of unwavering faith, led the charge, bringing many souls to Jesus through the power of music and the message of salvation. As the Soldiers of Righteousness, the church’s music group, prepared for their first tour, they were filled with a sense of purpose. Deacon Joseph Pieterson, a gifted songwriter, had felt a divine calling to spread God's word through his lyrics. With Pastor Joseph on drums and Martin Vasin managing the group, they set out to share their music with the world. However, lurking in the shadows was Erik Jeffrey Halford, the leader of the Nightowl Reapers, a rival band intent on crushing the Soldiers of Righteousness. Erik, fueled by jealousy and disdain for the faith-driven group, plotted to sabotage their ministry. On the night of their first concert, the atmosphere was electric. The Soldiers of Righteousness took the stage, dressed in vibrant suits that mirrored the colors of Skittles, each hue representing the diversity of God’s creation. As they performed, the crowd swelled, and the spirit of worship filled the air. But trouble was brewing. Doom Carnage, an atheist band, sought to undermine their efforts. Their manager, a wealthy bureaucrat, had devised a plan to steal Deacon Joe’s music and twist it into something unrecognizable. The tension escalated when Jr. Dr. Dan, a young member of the band, was provoked by insults from Doom Carnage. In a moment of rage, he lunged at their leader, fists flying. “HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, HUH!” he shouted, his anger boiling over. Martin Vasin quickly intervened, reminding Jr. Dr. Dan that violence was not the answer. Realizing the chaos he was causing, Jr. Dr. Dan retreated to the dressing room, seeking solace in prayer. He understood that his actions could push people away from God, and he needed guidance. As the concert continued, the Soldiers of Righteousness sang their hearts out, leading dozens to Christ. Yet, the sabotage from Doom Carnage was relentless. They twisted Deacon Joe's lyrics, attempting to paint the Soldiers of Righteousness - Deacon Joe's music group as hypocrites. But the power of the Holy Spirit was undeniable, and the audience responded to the genuine message of love and redemption. Backstage, tensions flared. Deacon Joe confronted Jr. Dr. Dan about his earlier outburst, and their argument escalated. Elder Ken tried to mediate, but Jr. Dr. Dan stormed off, vowing never to return. The group began to fracture, and the enemy's plan seemed to be working. As Jr. Dr. Dan wandered the streets, he was met with hostility from fans who had witnessed his anger. An evangelist approached him, speaking truth into his life. “Your actions have consequences, my friend. If you let go of your anger, you can heal and be healed.” Realizing the weight of his mistakes, Jr. Dr. Dan returned to the church, tears streaming down his face. He knelt at the altar, pouring out his heart to God, asking for forgiveness. “Lord, I'm sorry for what I've done,” he cried. “I've let anger divide us.” As he sang a song of repentance, the atmosphere shifted. Deacon Joe and the others, having heard his heartfelt plea, approached him. They embraced him, offering forgiveness and love. In that moment of reconciliation, Tori Diana Davison, a fellow band member, entered the church. She had been struggling with her own feelings of guilt and shame. Hearing Jr. Dr. Dan's song, she felt compelled to seek forgiveness too. They hugged tightly, their bond strengthened by the trials they had faced. Together, they crafted a new song, “Redeemed in Your Mercy,” a testament to hope, forgiveness, and the power of redemption. As they performed it at the next concert, the crowd erupted in praise. The message resonated deeply, and many came forward to accept Jesus as their Savior. Pastor Joe, filled with the Holy Spirit, preached a powerful message about God's love and mercy, drawing from Romans 5:8. The congregation was moved, and the atmosphere was charged with faith. After the service, the Soldiers of Righteousness gathered to pray for one another, reaffirming their commitment to the mission God had given them. They knew that the enemy would continue to attack, but united in faith, they were stronger. As they returned home, they carried with them the joy of having brought many to Christ. They were determined to continue their ministry, feeding the homeless and sharing the love of Jesus with those in need. In the end, the Soldiers of Righteousness stood firm, their faith unshaken. They had faced trials, but through it all, they learned the power of forgiveness, unity, and the unwavering love of God. And as they looked to the future, they knew that together, they could overcome any obstacle, spreading the sweet message of salvation like Skittles in a world that desperately needed it.

Twenty years ago, in a city that had long forgotten the meaning of community, the City of the New Jerusalem Church was born.
Their first ministry was in a homeless neighborhood, where the echoes of hopelessness were met with the sweet sound of the Gospel.
Pastor Joseph led the charge, bringing many souls to Jesus through the power of music and the message of salvation.
Among them was me, Jr. Dr. Dan.
I joined the Soldiers of Righteousness, Deacon Joe's music group, to spread God's love.
Two weeks before our first tour, we were ready.
As the Soldiers of Righteousness prepared to take the stage, our music group was formed by Deacon Joe Pieterson on drums, Martin Vasin managing the group and on guitar, Tori Diana Davison on keyboards, and me on bass.
We were all dressed in colorful suits with matching hats and shoes, just like a bag of Skittles.
Each color represented a different aspect of God’s creation: blue for the sky and ocean, green for the trees and grass, yellow for sunshine, orange for sunsets, red for roses and apples, and purple for royalty.
We were all diverse in our own ways but united as one under God’s mighty hand.
"Are you guys ready to spread love and forgiveness through our music?"
Deacon Joe asked us as we prepared to go on stage.
"Yes!"
We all shouted in unison.
We took our positions on stage behind our instruments.
The crowd grew larger as more people gathered around us.
"Are you guys ready to rock out?"
Skittles
I grip my bass guitar tighter as the first notes of our opening song fill the venue.
The crowd's energy surges, hands raised in worship.
From the corner of my eye, I spot Erik Halford and his Doom Carnage crew slipping through the side entrance, their faces twisted in mockery.
My fingers stumble on the strings when Erik starts mouthing insults, making crude gestures at Deacon Joe.
The rage builds in my chest as I watch him pull out his phone, recording our performance with a smirk.
Skittles
My vision narrows, blood pounding in my ears.
I lose control when he starts making more exaggerated mocking gestures.
Throwing down my bass, I leap off the stage and charge at him.
I knock the phone out of his hand, and my fist connects with his jaw.
He stumbles back, and I tackle him to the ground.
The crowd gasps, backing away in shock as we struggle.
Skittles
Martin grabs me from behind, pulling me off Erik while Deacon Joe stops playing.
Erik scrambles to his feet, blood dripping from his nose.
"See what these 'righteous' Christians are really like!"
He shouts, pointing at me.
I sit in the church, still shaken by the events of the concert.
Deacon Joe approaches me, his expression a mix of disappointment and understanding.
"Brother Jr. Dr. Dan, what happened out there?"
He asks, sitting beside me.
I take a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts.
"It was Erik. He was mocking us, taunting us. I just lost control."
Deacon Joe nods, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"I understand how you feel, but we can't let anger consume us. Our mission is to spread love and forgiveness, not violence."
I nod, feeling a wave of remorse wash over me.
"You're right. I let my emotions get the best of me."
Deacon Joe smiles, his eyes filled with compassion.
"We all make mistakes, brother. But it's how we learn from them that matters."
Skittles
He pauses for a moment before continuing.
"I want to share a story with you. When I was younger, I struggled with anger too. One day, I got into a fight with a rival gang member and ended up in the hospital with a broken arm."
I listen intently as Deacon Joe recounts his journey towards redemption.
He shows me the scars on his arm, a reminder of his past struggles.
"But God saw fit to give me another chance," he says, his voice filled with gratitude.
"And now, I'm here to spread His message of love and forgiveness." I nod, feeling a sense of admiration for Deacon Joe's strength and resilience.
"Thank you for sharing your story with me," I say sincerely.
"It means a lot to hear about your journey."
Deacon Joe smiles again, placing his hand on my shoulder once more.
"We all have our struggles, brother. But it's how we overcome them that truly matters."
We sit in silence for a moment before Deacon Joe speaks again.
"Now, let's pray together and ask for forgiveness."
I close my eyes as Deacon Joe leads us in prayer.
As we pray, I feel a sense of peace wash over me.
When we finish praying, Deacon Joe stands up and looks at me with determination in his eyes.
"Brother Jr. Dr. Dan," he says firmly but gently.
"I need you to do something for me."
"Anything," I reply without hesitation.
"I want you to go out there and apologize to Erik and his friends," he says calmly but firmly.
"And then I want you to go back on stage and finish the concert with us."
Skittles
I approach Erik backstage, my heart pounding in my chest.
He's adjusting his guitar, his expression guarded.
Taking a deep breath, I clear my throat to get his attention.
"Erik, can we talk?"
I ask, trying to keep my voice steady.
He looks up at me warily, but nods and sets down his instrument.
I take a deep breath and begin.
"Erik, I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier. I know I lost control and let my emotions get the better of me. I'm truly sorry for hurting you."
Erik studies me for a moment, then nods slowly.
"I accept your apology," he says quietly.
"But next time, just ignore us. We're just trying to stir up some controversy."
I nod, feeling a mix of relief and regret.
Skittles
"Thank you for understanding. I promise it won't happen again."
As we talk, I notice Deacon Joe watching from a distance, a look of hope in his eyes.
I extend my hand to Erik, and he shakes it firmly.
"Let's put this behind us," I say with a smile.
Skittles
"Agreed," Erik replies, returning my smile.
I head back to the stage, where the Soldiers of Righteousness are waiting for me.
They nod in understanding as I join them, and we begin to set up our instruments.
Deacon Joe takes his place at the microphone and looks out at the crowd.
"Thank you for your patience, everyone," he says warmly.
"We're going to continue with our concert now. Please join us in song."
The crowd applauds as we launch into our next song, "Redeemed in Your Mercy."
As I play my bass, I glance over at Tori, who gives me a reassuring smile.
We sing with all our hearts, pouring our emotions into every note.
The crowd listens intently, mesmerized by our music.
As we reach the midpoint of the song, I catch sight of Erik in the audience.
His expression has softened, and he seems to be enjoying the music.
Skittles
When we finish the song, Deacon Joe turns to us with a proud smile.
"Thank you all for your hard work tonight," he says warmly.
"You truly are the Soldiers of Righteousness."
We pack up our instruments and say goodbye to each other before heading home.
As I leave the venue, I notice Erik waiting for me outside. He approaches me cautiously, but his expression is no longer hostile.
"Hey, Jr. Dr. Dan," he says quietly.
"I wanted to talk to you about something."
I nod curiously and follow him to a nearby bench.
He sits down and looks at me seriously.
"I know we haven't always seen eye-to-eye," he begins.
"But I have to admit, your music really touched me tonight. It made me realize that there's more to life than just stirring up controversy."
I smile warmly at him and place a hand on his shoulder.
"Erik, I'm glad you enjoyed our music," I say sincerely.
"And I'm even more glad that we were able to put our differences aside."
He nods in agreement and extends his hand for a handshake or hug.
"I think it's time for us to move forward," he says firmly.
"And maybe even collaborate on some music together."
I shake his hand enthusiastically and smile broadly at him. "That sounds like an amazing idea," I exclaim excitedly.
"I would love to work with you on some new songs."
Erik grins back at me and claps me on the back.
"Let's do this," he says confidently.
"Actually, there's something else I need to tell you," Erik says, his voice suddenly serious.
I raise an eyebrow, curious about the shift in his tone.
"I've been thinking about joining your church," he admits quietly, glancing away as if unsure of my reaction.
Skittles
I sit with Erik at a local café, sipping on a cup of coffee as we discuss our potential collaboration.
"So, what kind of music are you thinking of making?"
I ask him, eager to hear his ideas.
Erik leans back in his chair and thinks for a moment.
"I've always been into heavy metal, but I want to try something different," he says finally.
"Maybe blend some of my old style with your gospel sound."
I nod enthusiastically, liking the idea already.
"That sounds amazing," I say excitedly.
"We could create something entirely new and unique."
Erik grins, clearly pleased with my response.
"Exactly," he says, leaning forward in his chair.
"And I think we could write some really powerful lyrics too. Something about redemption and finding hope in the darkness."
Skittles
I smile at him, impressed by his insight.
"You're absolutely right," I say sincerely.
"Our music is all about spreading love and forgiveness. I think we could make something truly special together."
As we continue to brainstorm ideas, I notice that Erik seems genuinely interested in the message behind our music.
He asks thoughtful questions about our faith and listens intently as I share my own experiences with him.
After a while, Erik leans back in his chair again and looks at me seriously.
"There's something else I want to talk to you about," he says quietly. "What is it?"
I ask curiously, sensing that there's more to the story than he's letting on.
Erik takes a deep breath before speaking again.
"I've been struggling with my faith lately," he admits softly.
"I used to believe in God when I was younger, but after everything that happened with my parents... I just couldn't anymore."
I nod understandingly, remembering the pain he had shared with me earlier.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," I say sincerely.
"But know that you're not alone. We all struggle with our faith at some point or another."
Erik looks up at me hopefully, seeking guidance.
"Do you think there's still a way for me to find my faith again?"
I smile warmly at him and place a hand on his shoulder.
"Of course there is," I say reassuringly.
"All it takes is a little bit of trust and willingness to open yourself up to the possibility. Would you like to come to church with me next Sunday?"
Erik nods eagerly, clearly excited at the prospect of exploring his spirituality once again.
"Yes, please," he says gratefully.
