Prison life is hard.
The days are long.
They move slowly.
It feels like time stands still, and you're stuck in this never-ending nightmare.
You get up at the same time every day, eat the same food, do the same work, see the same people, and go through the same routine.
It's like Groundhog Day, but it's not funny.
It feels like you're losing your mind.
The only thing that changes is the date.
It's a reminder that another day has passed, and you're one day closer to your release date.
If you're lucky enough to have one.
Some of us don't.
Some of us are here for life.
I used to be one of those people until I got my appeal granted.
Now, I'm getting out in six weeks.
Six weeks isn't long, but in prison terms, it's an eternity.
Anything can happen in six weeks.
