I'm not a big fan of change.
Don't get me wrong, some changes are good.
Like the time my family moved to a new house, and I got a huge walk-in closet.
That was a good change.
Or when the school switched to block scheduling, and I got longer periods with less homework.
That was a good change too.
But changes that affect my life in major ways?
Not so much.
Like when my parents got divorced.
Or my grandmother died.
Those changes sucked.
So when I woke up one morning to find myself totally and completely different, I wasn't sure what to think.
At first, I thought it was just a dream.
I rubbed my eyes, expecting to see the same plain Jane staring back at me in the mirror from before.
But when I opened them again, everything was just as different as it had been in my dream.
My hair was still brown, but now it was thick and curly, spilling down my back like a waterfall of chocolate.
My nose was still upturned at the end, but now it was slightly smaller with a tiny sprinkle of freckles across it that weren't there before.
And my eyes?
They were still green, but now they were cat-like with thick lashes that seemed to go on forever.
But it wasn't just my face that had changed...
I tugged off the sheet covering me and gasped.
My body was totally and completely different too!
