Sarah Jennings

loyal friend to Emily, friends with Emily and wary of Jessica's intentions, average height with curly brown hair, caring and supportive.

Emily Carter

nerdy girl turned beauty, friends with Sarah and rivals with Jessica, short and plain before transformation, now tall and stunningly beautiful, initially shy and kind but becomes cruel.

I was never one of the popular kids.

I wasn't really one of the nerdy kids either.

I was more of a "fly under the radar" kind of kid.

I got good grades, didn't cause any trouble, and generally went unnoticed.

This was fine with me.

I didn't want to be popular.

Being popular looked hard.

Plus, I didn't want to deal with the drama that came with it.

It seemed like all the popular kids did was argue with each other.

I had better things to do with my time than cause drama.

Like read a book.

Or watch TV.

Or go for a run.

I liked living a drama-free life.

It was easier that way.

Plus, I had my best friend, Sarah, and we did everything together.

We met in kindergarten and had been best friends ever since.

We were inseparable through grade school and into high school.
