When I woke up, I was in a totally strange environment.
I looked around and saw that I was in a primitive forest with no modern facilities whatsoever.
I then looked down at myself and saw that I was only wearing my underwear.
I was so bewildered, because I had gone to sleep in my room the night before, and now I was here.
I had no idea how I had gotten here.
I looked around and saw some berries on the bushes.
I plucked them and ate them, not knowing if they were poisonous or not, because I was so hungry.
After eating the berries, I walked around, trying to find something to drink.
As I walked, I heard a stream running, and my heart skipped a beat.
I quickly followed the sound of the stream and found it, and my heart leaped with joy, because now I had something to quench my thirst with.
I knelt down and drank from the stream, feeling so happy, because now I had food and water to survive with.
As I drank from the stream, I heard a loud noise behind me, and my heart skipped another beat.
I quickly turned around and saw a huge man with a big axe in his hand walking towards me.
He looked so scary, especially with his muscles showing from his short-sleeved shirt.
My heart was pounding so hard that I could hear it beating in my ears.
I slowly stood up from the stream, with water dripping from my chin.
The man stopped walking and looked at me with a suspicious look on his face.
He then said something to me in a language that I didn't understand.
He gestured with his axe, and I knew he was asking me something.
I took a careful step backward, and he matched my movement by taking a step forward.
His free hand pointed at my fingers, which were stained with berry juice, then to a patch of bushes nearby.
Understanding dawned on me - these must be his berries.
My hands trembled as I lifted them slowly above my head, keeping my movements deliberate to avoid startling him.
His grip on the wooden handle tightened, muscles tensing along his forearms.
I swallowed hard, my throat still dry from thirst, and carefully extended one finger toward the flowing stream beside us.
His eyes followed my gesture, narrowing as he studied the water.
His stance remained rigid, but his expression shifted slightly as I made an exaggerated drinking motion.
The axe lowered a few inches.
Keeping my hands visible, I inched towards the stream, never breaking eye contact.
The pebbles crunched beneath my bare feet with each slow step.
He tracked my movement, the axe still ready but held lower now.
When I reached the water's edge, I crouched down gradually, my knees shaking.
He grunted and nodded once, giving me permission.
I cupped my hands and brought the cool water to my mouth, drinking quickly but trying not to make any sudden moves.
The man took three steps closer, close enough that I could hear his steady breathing.
"Why are you here?" he asked in a deep, gravelly voice, his accent thick but the words clear enough.
"I don't know," I replied honestly, my voice barely above a whisper, hoping he could sense my sincerity.
He studied me for a moment longer, then said, "You must come with me; the forest is not safe for strangers."
