Jason's rival and Sarah's boyfriend, athletic build, competitive and secretive

best friend of Jason, dating Mark, long blonde hair, supportive and outgoing

high school student, friends with Sarah and rivals with Mark, short black hair, curious and reserved

I was rummaging through the attic of my family's old house, searching for anything that might be worth keeping as I packed the rest away in boxes.

Anything that might be worth selling or using myself.

I was pulling old clothes from a trunk when I noticed a small, wooden box in the back.

I didn't remember seeing it before.

It was about the size of a shoebox, and had a strange symbol carved into the lid.

I opened it, and found a small, red gemstone inside.

It looked like an emerald, but was a deep, blood red color instead of green.

I picked it up, feeling a strange energy emanating from it.

Suddenly, I felt a headache coming on.

I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples.

When I opened my eyes again, the pain was gone.

I put the gemstone back in its box, and closed it.

Now that I had gone through all the trunks and boxes, I started to sweep the floor of dust and dirt that had accumulated in the attic over the years.

As I swept, small piles of dust and dirt formed on the floor.

I kicked one of these piles towards the hole in the wall that led to my bedroom.

Instead of falling through the hole, the pile of dust hovered in mid-air.
