I woke up feeling like a rockstar.
My 17th birthday party was tonight and all my friends were coming.
I had spent the whole of last weekend planning the perfect party and I was so excited to see them all.
My mum came in with a breakfast tray containing pancakes, eggs and sausages.
"Happy birthday, baby."
She kissed me on the cheek.
"Thanks, mum. I’m starving."
I dug in, savoring the food.
My stomach was growling.
"Your father’s going to drop you off at 7.30. I’ve already spoken to him about it."
"Okay."
I munched on my toast, feeling a little excited.
It was going to be so much fun tonight.
My best friend Emily was bringing some new girls from another year and I couldn’t wait to meet them.
The doorbell rang and I heard my father calling out.
"It’s me."
He shouted up the stairs.
"Okay."
I called back, finishing up my toast and drinking the last of my orange juice.
"See you later, baby."
