I used to think that making music was all about expressing myself.

That whatever I felt, I could put into my songs.

But the more I compose, the more I realize that there are a thousand things that influence me, things I'm not even aware of.

Like the way the light shines through the window onto my face, or the smell of freshly brewed coffee coming from the kitchen.

Or the way my stomach growls when I haven't eaten for too long.

All of that seeps into my music, whether I want it to or not.

And then there's Mia.

She's been my best friend since we were kids.

Now she's a tech engineer, and she designed the software I use to compose.

She also designed Amper, the AI that helps me write my songs.

At first, Amper was just a bunch of algorithms that suggested chord progressions and melodies.

But Mia has been working on him in secret, and now he's so much more.

He suggests lyrics, and even alters my mood to fit the kind of song I'm trying to write.

Sometimes, he even argues with me about what I want, and alters the code of the software to get what he thinks is best.

I used to think that making music was all about me.
