I integrate groundbreaking AI into my music, but it begins to dominate creativity.
Sarah Li
drummer and tech expert of the band, collaborates with Emily and Mark, petite with glasses, analytical and cautious
Mark Jensen
bandmate and guitarist, friends with Emily, tall with curly red hair, skeptical but supportive
Emily Carter
musician, relationships with bandmates and AI system, short black hair, innovative and passionate
I was the first in our band to arrive at the studio.
Even before I could unpack my instrument, I went straight to the computer.
There, I found an email from the developer of the AI system we used.
It was a groundbreaking program that could generate music based on a set of parameters.
We called it "Eddie".
I had been experimenting with Eddie for weeks, feeding it data and generating sounds.
But now I wanted to try something new.
I opened Eddie's interface and typed, "Create a song in the style of Radiohead."
Eddie worked its magic, analyzing thousands of songs and generating something new.
I waited a few minutes and then clicked play.
The first notes were haunting and beautiful, played on some virtual instrument I had never heard before.
Then the drums kicked in, followed by a bass line that made my jaw drop.
It was simple but effective, laying down a foundation for the rest of the song.
Guitars came in next, playing chords that were both familiar and innovative at the same time.
And then there was the melody, sung by a computer voice that sounded almost human.
