MidReal Story

Chapter 1 “So, are you sure you want to do this?” Alex asked. It was a sunny morning and the birds were chirping outside. Lena sat in front of her computer, her fingers poised over the keyboard. She took a deep breath and clicked the ‘Create Account’ button. You’ve just created your very own TikTok account! The app said, and Lena couldn’t help but smile. “Do you ever wonder what life was like before TikTok?” Lena asked Alex, who was sitting beside her. He shook his head. “Not really,” Alex replied, and Lena laughed. “Why am I not surprised?” she teased, and he shrugged. “TikTok’s just another social media app. You already have enough to deal with.” “That’s true,” Lena agreed, opening the app for the first time. The screen was filled with videos of people who had millions of followers. “I’ll never be as popular as them,” Lena said. “You never know,” Alex replied. “You might just get a million followers. Or more.” Lena laughed. “I highly doubt that.” “Just give it a try,” Alex encouraged. “You never know what might happen.” Lena nodded and started scrolling through the videos. “Oh my god! It’s Lena!” someone screamed. “What’s she doing here?” “I thought she was dead!” Lena frowned and looked up from her phone. She was in a crowded mall, and people were staring at her. “Yo, Lena! Can I take a picture with you?” a guy asked. “What? Why?” Lena asked. “Because you’re famous!” he replied. “You’re an internet sensation!” “But I just started yesterday!” Lena said. “So? You have millions of followers already!” he replied, and she frowned. “I’m sorry, but who are you again?” she asked. “My name’s Mike! I’m a huge fan!” he introduced himself. “Nice to meet you, Mike,” Lena said, shaking his hand. She took a selfie with him and he left happily. “Okay, what is going on here?” Lena asked Alex when she got back home. He shrugged innocently. “What do you mean?” he asked. “I mean, why does everyone think I’m famous? I only have a few videos on TikTok! It doesn’t make sense!” Lena said. “Well, you are famous now,” Alex said. “You have the most followers on TikTok.” “That is not possible. There are people who have millions of followers!” Lena said. “Well, they don’t exist anymore,” Alex replied. “You’re the most popular person on TikTok.” “That is impossible!” Lena protested. “I only started yesterday!” “And you already have 10 million followers,” Alex said. “No way! That is not possible!” Lena said. “Well, it’s true,” Alex replied, and Lena groaned in frustration. “This is not happening! This is all a dream!” Lena said, pinching herself. “Ow! This is not a dream!” “This is happening,” Alex said. “You’re famous now. And soon, everyone will know your name.” Lena sighed and sat down on the bed. She looked at her computer screen and shook her head in disbelief. “How did this happen?” Lena asked. “How did I get so popular?” “Like I said before, it’s all thanks to me,” Alex said with a grin. “What? How is this your doing?” Lena asked. “Remember when I told you that you should give TikTok a try? Well, I kind of made sure that everyone saw your videos,” Alex explained sheepishly.

“What? You hacked TikTok?!” Lena exclaimed. “That is illegal!”“Relax!” Alex said. “It’s not like they can track me down. And besides, they didn’t do anything wrong with their videos. I just wanted to give them a little push in the right direction.”“Right direction?!” Lena exclaimed. “I didn’t need your help, Alex!”“Of course you did,” Alex said. “You have the potential to be famous. You just needed a little help to get there.”“No, I don’t! And I don’t want to be famous!” Lena protested.“Of course you do,” Alex replied. “Everyone wants to be famous. Everyone wants to be recognized for their talent.”“I’m not talented!” Lena exclaimed.“Oh really?” Alex asked. “Then what do you call what you’ve been doing on TikTok?”“That’s not talent! That’s just something I do for fun!” Lena said.“Then that’s what you’re talented in,” Alex said. “Making other people happy by doing something you love.”Lena sighed and shook her head.“Whatever, Alex,” she said.“Well, let’s see how long you can keep this up,” Alex said. “Let’s see how long you can stay on top.”Lena rolled her eyes and got up from the bed.“Where are you going?” Alex asked.“I’m going out,” Lena replied. “I need some fresh air.”Chapter 2Lena walked into the park and sat down on one of the benches. She looked down at her phone and saw that it was filled with notifications from TikTok.She had thousands of new followers and comments on her videos. She couldn’t believe it.She had millions of followers already and it was only her second day on the app.She really was famous now.But she still didn’t understand how it happened. She wasn’t doing anything special in her videos. They were just random things she did when she was bored. But somehow, people loved it.People loved watching her make funny faces, dance around, and spend time with her family and friends.
