I still remember the first time I met him.
He was at a party, standing in the corner of the room, a glass of whiskey in his hand.
He looked so mysterious and enigmatic, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him.
I knew he was dangerous, but I was drawn to him like a moth to a flame.
I wanted to know more about him, to get closer to him, to be with him.
And when he finally approached me and asked me to dance, I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
I knew that he had a dark side, that he was involved in some shady business, but I didn’t care.
I was deeply in love with him, and I would do anything for him.
But then my friend Kim Taehyung told me something that made my blood run cold.
He told me that Choi Soobin had killed someone.
And not just anyone – he had killed his own father.
At first, I didn’t believe it.
How could the man I loved be capable of such a horrible crime?
The man was leaning against the wall when I first saw him, his eyes trained on the people at the party.
But then he moved.
It was a subtle shift, just a change in posture as he stood upright, but it felt like a magnetic pull that drew me toward him.
I glanced around at my friends, all of them chatting and laughing with each other, completely oblivious to the fact that my attention was elsewhere.
I knew I shouldn’t be staring, but I couldn’t help it.
It was like I was under some kind of spell, and he was the only thing I could see.
I wasn’t the only one who noticed.
Kim Taehyung looked at me and then followed my gaze, his eyes zeroing in on the man.
And then he was staring too, his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open.
I tore my gaze away from the man just long enough to look at Taehyung, to see the shock on his face.
And then I turned back to look at the man again.
But he was already looking at me.
His eyes were dark and intense, and for a moment, I could have sworn that he was smirking at me.
He wasn’t doing anything extravagant; no fireworks were going off or angels singing in the background.
He was just standing there, looking at me with those dark eyes of his as if he knew some kind of secret that only we shared.
He was wearing a simple black shirt and jeans, but somehow he managed to look like he had just stepped off of a runway.
“How do you know him?”
Taehyung asked from beside me.
“I don’t,” I said, tearing my gaze away from the man so that I could look at Taehyung again.
The shock had faded from his face, replaced by a look of concern.
“Then why do you keep staring at him?”
“I don’t know,” I said helplessly.
I glanced back over at the man again, but he was already gone.
My heart sank as I realized that he had disappeared into the crowd of people.
My stomach twisted with disappointment, but I tried not to let it show on my face.
“It’s getting hot in here,” I said, pulling at the hem of my tight red dress.
“Do you want to get some air?”
Taehyung asked, already moving toward the door.
I nodded, eager to get out of there.
I let him lead me through the crowd, not daring to hope that I might get another glimpse of the man.
I tried not to think about how magnetic his gaze had felt, or how it had made my pulse race.
“Y/N, stay away from that guy,” Taehyung said as we stepped outside.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I said, leaning against the wall and taking a deep breath.
“Choi Soobin,” Taehyung said, running a hand through his hair.
“He’s bad news, Y/N.
I know you think he’s hot or whatever, but you need to stay away from him.”
“I’m not going to talk to him,” I snapped.
I didn’t want to tell Taehyung that I was worried that I would never see him again.
I made sure to keep my gaze on Taehyung, not daring to risk another glance at the building across the street.

But when we stepped back inside, I couldn’t help it.
My eyes went straight to Choi Soobin, the enigmatic man who was still standing in the corner, a glass of whiskey in his hand.
And once again, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from him.
There was something about him that drew me in, like a moth to a flame.
I didn’t know what it was, but I couldn’t help myself.
I had to look at him, to study him, to try to figure out what it was about him that made me feel this way.
Like he was staring at me, even though I knew that was impossible.
It was like my stupid brain was just seeing what it wanted to see.
Taehyung was right; I needed to stay away from this guy.
But then, as if he could sense my thoughts, Choi Soobin turned and looked at me.
His dark eyes met mine, and in that moment, all rational thought flew out the window.
Because for some reason, all I could think about was how much I wanted him to come over and talk to me.
He must have read my mind, because that’s exactly what he did.
He set down his drink and started making his way across the room, his eyes never leaving mine.
I could feel my heart slamming against my ribs as he got closer, and I had to remind myself to breathe.
The thing was, I knew he was trouble.
My friend had warned me that he was bad news, that he was involved in some shady business.
But even if I hadn’t gotten that warning, it would have been obvious from the way he carried himself.
There was something dark and dangerous about him, something that set my nerves on edge.
But there was also something magnetic and alluring about him, something that made it impossible for me to say no.
My friend had warned me that Choi Soobin was involved in shady business, and that he had even killed his own father.
But I didn’t care.
Because there was no way I could say no to him now.
He had already crossed half of the room, and he wasn’t going to stop until he reached me.
I knew I should be running in the opposite direction.
I knew this was a terrible idea.
But it felt like my feet were glued to the floor, like I couldn’t move even if I wanted to.
And then he was standing in front of me, looking down at me with those dark eyes of his.
“Do you want to dance?”
he asked, holding out his hand.
I knew I should say no.
He wasn’t my type, and I knew nothing about him.
He could be dangerous for all I knew.
But there was something about him, something that made it impossible for me to say no.
I pretended that it was just because I wanted to have fun, that I wanted to let loose and enjoy myself for once.
But deep down, I knew it was so much more than that.
Enigmatic Love: A Dangerous Obsession
He was trying to mask his concern but his eyes still gave him away, and his mouth formed a thin line that showed just how worried he really was.
I forced myself to focus on what Kim Taehyung was saying, but it was hard when my eyes kept wandering back to Choi Soobin.
He was standing across the room, talking to one of his friends and laughing about something.
I had no idea what they were saying, but even their laughter had a dangerous edge to it.
Something that set my nerves on edge and made me want to run in the opposite direction.
But at the same time, there was also something undeniably magnetic and alluring about him.
Something that made it impossible for me to look away.
Kim noticed my distraction and followed my gaze.
He stared at Soobin for a moment before turning back to me with a worried look on his face.
“Are you sure about this?”
I could tell he was trying to be discreet and not make a big deal out of it.
Soobin might not be looking our way right now, but if he found out that someone was talking about him behind his back, then things would get ugly in a hurry.
But Kim was also one of the best photographers I knew.
He had an eye for detail that couldn’t be taught and a passion for his work that was infectious.
He was also one of my closest friends.
We had known each other since we were kids, and he had been there for me through some of the hardest times in my life.
He had never been wrong about someone before, but what he didn’t understand was that Soobin was different.
I didn’t know how I knew that.
I just did.
He might have a shady past, but that didn’t mean he was going to hurt me.
At least, not on purpose.
But Kim didn’t see it that way.
He only saw the danger that Soobin represented, and he was doing everything in his power to make me see reason.
“He’s bad news, Y/N,” he said, his voice low and urgent.
“You can’t trust him.”
“I know you don’t like him,” I replied, my voice equally low.
“But I’m an adult, Taehyung.
I can make my own decisions.”
“Yeah, but you’ve never been good at making good ones,” he said, his eyes flashing with anger.
“You saw that video of him.
You know what he’s capable of.
Do you really want to get mixed up in that?”
It was true that Soobin had a shady past.
It was also true that he was involved in some pretty questionable businesses, and that he had even killed his own father.
But so what?
