I was always told that my father died before I was born.
I never knew what he did for a living.
No one in the village seemed to know.
My mother left the village, soon after she became pregnant with me, and never returned.
So, I grew up as an orphan in the care of the village.
The villagers were always kind to me, but being an orphan is not easy.
I had to work hard from a very young age to help with my upkeep.
The village provided food and shelter, but I had to work to get anything more than that.
Clothes, toys, anything beyond the bare minimum I had to work for.
When I was old enough, I started helping on the nearby farm and soon became a full-time worker there.
It wasn't easy, but it was better than living on charity.
Growing up as an orphan also meant that I had a lot of free time.
While other kids were being taught reading and writing by their parents, I was left to my own devices.
I would spend hours exploring the nearby woods and climbing trees.
This meant that I was alone a lot, but it also meant that I had a lot of time to think.
As I got older my free time turned into training time.
