I was nervous.
I’d never been on an adventure before.
I had a few friends that were going with me.
We all met up at the Flying Silver Foxes guild hall.
I was friends with everyone, except the Tiger Lycan.
He didn’t like Fox Lycans, so he kept his distance.
The others didn’t mind him though.
In fact, they respected his skills.
I was the lowest level in our little group.
I was a level zero Avariel mage.
My master had just released me to go out and get some experience.
I had silver hair and piercing blue eyes.
I was an Avariel, which meant I had wings.
They were currently folded against my back.
I was a bit of a klutz, so I tried to keep them out of the way until I needed them.
"I’m so excited!"
Dastion exclaimed.
He was a level fifteen/fifteen Rogue/Mage Brownie.

As we stepped out of the guild hall, the warm sunlight and bustling energy of the market enveloped us, a stark contrast to the dimly lit, quiet atmosphere of the hall.
Dastion's enthusiasm was palpable, his bright brown eyes sparkling with excitement as he urged us to hurry along.
"Come on, friends! We don't want to waste any more time! The dungeon awaits!" he exclaimed, his diminutive stature belied by his boundless energy.
I couldn't help but feel a thrill of anticipation as I followed him, my wings fluttering slightly in response to the excitement.
The Fox Lycan, ever resourceful, darted ahead, securing a map from a nearby vendor with a few swift words and a flash of silver coins.
As we navigated through the crowded market, Enisa and the Elven Warrior of Light engaged in a heated discussion about strategy, their voices rising and falling in a rhythmic cadence.
Meanwhile, I found myself mesmerized by the sights and sounds around me – the vibrant colors of the market stalls, the cacophony of merchants hawking their wares, and the eclectic mix of adventurers and townspeople hurrying about their daily business.
We finally reached the city gates, where Dastion paused, his eyes scanning the horizon with an air of caution.
"Alright, friends," he said, his voice low and serious. "From here on out, we need to be vigilant. We don't know what dangers lie ahead."
As he spoke, I felt a shiver run down my spine, my senses on high alert as I gazed out at the rolling hills and dense forests beyond the city walls.
Suddenly, a faint rustling sound came from the nearby trees, followed by the snapping of twigs and the soft padding of footsteps.
My heart skipped a beat as I turned to face the others, my eyes locking onto theirs with a sense of foreboding.

We stepped forward, united in purpose, ready to face whatever awaited us beyond the city gates.

As we moved toward the rustling, my heart pounded in my chest, the sound of my own breathing loud in my ears.
Dastion, with his sharp eyes, signaled us to halt, his hand raised like a tiny stop sign.
The Fox Lycan crouched low, his ears twitching as he scanned the area, his tail flicking back and forth like a metronome.
Enisa gripped her Mace of Giants tightly, ready for any threat, her eyes fixed intently on the underbrush.
The Elven Warrior of Light stood beside me, her aura glowing faintly, a soft hum of magic emanating from her staff.
Suddenly, a pack of goblin scouts emerged from the underbrush, their eyes gleaming with malice, their pointed ears twitching as they sniffed the air.
The Tiger Lycan growled softly, muscles tensing for battle, his fur standing on end as he bared his teeth.
I focused on gathering mana for a spell, determined to prove my worth, my fingers tingling with anticipation.
Dastion whispered a command to attack, his voice barely audible over the pounding of my heart.
"Take out the scouts quickly and quietly," he hissed. "We don't want to alert whatever else is lurking in these woods."
With a swift nod, the Fox Lycan sprang into action, his short sword flashing in the dappled sunlight as he charged toward the goblins.
Enisa followed close behind, her Mace of Giants at the ready, her shield emblazoned with the symbol of Eranor shining like a beacon.

The Elven Warrior of Light raised her staff, a burst of holy energy illuminating the surrounding trees as she prepared to strike.
I took a deep breath, my hands weaving intricate patterns in the air as I began to cast my spell...
