Draco Malfoy, a 15-year-old boy from Hogwarts, a tall, slender boy with a pale, pointed face, sleek blond hair, and ice grey eyes, has always hated Madi Grey, a 15-year-old girl from Hogwarts, green-eyed and brunette, but also very pretty looking too, until one day when he's insulting her, he sees something else in her eyes, like the look of a love-sick person who is just cleanly hiding their feelings.
Madi Grey
She is a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Magic. She is shy, beautiful, and sensitive. Madi is often bullied by Draco Malfoy and struggles with her feelings towards him. Despite her attraction to Draco, she hides her emotions and maintains a facade of hatred to avoid being seen as weak. Her parents' divorce has left her feeling isolated and vulnerable. However, she finds solace in her pet rat, Sparky, and a mysterious new student at Hogwarts.
Blaise Zorcist
He is a mysterious student at Hogwarts with piercing blue eyes and dark hair. He is enigmatic, observant, and quiet. Blaise becomes fast friends with Madi after she arrives at school alone. His presence offers her a sense of security and companionship during an uncertain time at school. His family's wealth provides him with access to exclusive social circles but also subjects him to peer pressure and expectations.
Draco Malfoy
He is a popular student at Hogwarts and the son of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. He is arrogant, meanspirited, and attractive. Known for his cruel pranks and bullying of other students, Draco often targets Madi Grey for his amusement. Despite his harsh exterior, Madi sees something in his eyes that makes her question his true nature. Draco's interactions with Madi suggest a complex relationship marked by hidden feelings and underlying tension.
"Madi! You dirty little bitch! Why are you staring at me? Are you in love with me? Ha! Ha! Ha!"
"Ha! Ha! Ha!"
Everyone around us started laughing at my expense.
I wanted to cry.
Why did he have to be so mean to me?
I hated him, but I couldn't deny that he was handsome and hot.
He had a tall, slender build with a pale, pointed face and sleek blond hair.
His eyes were ice grey and totally gorgeous.
"Why don't you like me, Madi? Don't you know that I'm the hottest boy in Hogwarts?"
He smirked at me before turning around and walking away.
I stared at his back until he disappeared from my sight.
I was dazed.
Why did I feel so sad when he said that he didn't like me?
I shook my head and banished the thought from my mind.
I hated him!
I repeated that over and over again in my mind to remind myself of that.
I walked to the empty table in the corner of the cafeteria and sat down, not wanting to draw any more attention to myself.
As usual, he targeted me just to amuse himself and make everyone laugh.
I hated being the laughing stock of his jokes.
"Why is he being so mean to you?"
I glanced up to find Blaise Zorcist sliding into the seat across from me.
His blue eyes were studying my face intently, as if he was trying to read my mind.
The noise of the cafeteria had quietened down, and I knew that everyone was staring at us.
I could feel their eyes on me, but I didn't dare to look up and confirm it.
I kept my eyes focused on the sandwich that lay in front of me, wrapped in wax paper.
The noise returned to normal when everyone went back to their own conversations.
I could still hear the laughter of Draco's group at the Slytherin table, though.
I didn't touch my food.
Instead, I started tearing the wax paper into tiny strips with my fingers.
"Madison?"
Blaise's voice broke through my thoughts.
He reached across the table and placed his hand over mine, stilling my fidgeting fingers.
I looked up at him, and he gave me a small smile. "You know you can always tell me anything, right?" he asked softly, his blue eyes searching my face for answers.
I nodded slowly and gave him a small smile in return.
I didn't want to talk about it anymore; it was already embarrassing enough that I had been caught staring at Draco Malfoy like a lovesick puppy.
Blaise didn't press the issue any further; he just sat there with me in comfortable silence.
I couldn't get the image of Draco's smirking face out of my head or the way his grey eyes had lingered on mine for a moment too long before he walked away from me.
It was as if he knew that I was staring at him and had enjoyed every second of it.
"Blaise, do you think he knows?" I asked hesitantly, my voice barely above a whisper.
Blaise leaned in closer, his expression serious. "Madi, Draco's not as clueless as he pretends to be. He knows exactly what he's doing."
I sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and resignation. "Then why does he keep playing these games with me?"
Blaise gently tugged on my hand.
"Come on, Madi. Let's get out of here," he said, his voice low and soothing.
I glanced over at Draco's table, where he sat with his usual crowd of admirers.
My half-eaten lunch still lay forgotten on the table in front of me.
I gathered my books and stood up, trying not to draw any more attention to myself.
As I turned to follow Blaise, I caught a glimpse of Draco's eyes flickering towards us.
His expression darkened when he saw Blaise's hand still holding mine.
I quickly looked away, but not before I noticed the slight clench of his jaw.
Blaise led the way through the crowded tables, expertly navigating around the students who were engrossed in their own conversations.
We reached the doorway and just as we were about to exit, I heard the sound of a chair scraping against the floor behind us.
I didn't need to turn around to know who it was. "Madi, let's go," Blaise whispered urgently, his grip tightening around my hand.
"Wait, Madison," Draco's voice called out, laced with an unfamiliar edge.
I hesitated, glancing at Blaise, whose eyes narrowed slightly.
Draco approached, his gaze fixed on me. "There's something you need to know."
I pull my hand from Blaise's grip and turn to face Draco, anger suddenly replacing my usual timidity.
"What could you possibly have to say?"
I demand, my voice trembling slightly.
The corridor falls silent as other students pause to watch the exchange.
Draco's confident smirk falters for a moment.
He glances at Blaise, then back to me, opening his mouth but no words come out.
The memory of his public mockery in the cafeteria burns fresh in my mind.
"You've said enough already," I continue, stepping closer to him.
"You think it's fun to humiliate me? To ask if I'm in love with you in front of everyone?"
My hands shake as I speak, but I keep my eyes locked on his.
Draco's expression shifts, a flicker of something vulnerable crossing his face.
"I didn't mean it like that, Madi," he says quietly, his voice lacking its usual bravado.
Blaise steps forward, his tone firm. "Then what did you mean, Draco? Because from where we're standing, it sure looked like you were just being cruel."
Draco's face hardens as he glances at the gathering crowd of students.
He straightens his posture and sneers.
"I just wanted to remind her that her pathetic little crush is embarrassing everyone around her."
The words hit like a physical blow.
I notice his hands trembling slightly before he shoves them in his pockets.
I try to speak, but my voice cracks.
Blaise steps between us, but I catch Draco's eyes darting away, avoiding my gaze.
He turns to leave, bumping my shoulder roughly as he passes.
As he walks away, I see him clench his fists so tight his knuckles turn white.
Blaise gently takes my elbow and steers me away from the gawking students.
I let him lead me, my legs moving mechanically.
The corridor seems to stretch on forever as we walk, whispers following us like a dark cloud.
Eventually, we reach an empty classroom.
Blaise guides me inside and closes the door behind us, muffling the noise from the corridor.
He conjures a glass of water and hands it to me without a word.
I take it, focusing on the cool surface of the glass in my hands.
It trembles slightly as I hold it, but I don't dare look up at Blaise.
I'm grateful he doesn't try to fill the silence with empty comfort.
He simply stands there, waiting patiently for me to gather myself.
After what feels like an eternity, I finally lift my gaze to meet his concerned eyes.
"Are you okay?"
He asks softly.
I nod, still clutching the untouched glass of water.
"We can skip next period," he suggests gently. "Go to the library's quiet section instead."
I shake my head, setting the glass down on a nearby desk.
"No, I need to face this," I reply, my voice steadier than before.
Blaise nods, understanding in his eyes. "Alright, but I'm with you every step of the way."
I gather my courage and leave the classroom, Blaise trailing behind me.
The corridor buzzes with students rushing between classes, their voices echoing off the stone walls.
My heart pounds in my chest as I scan the faces in the crowd, searching for that familiar blonde hair.
I spot Draco near the Potions classroom, surrounded by his usual group of friends.
He notices me approaching and his laughter dies mid-sentence.
The crowd parts as I march toward him, my wand gripped tightly at my side.
His friends fall silent, watching with curiosity as I approach.
When I stop three feet from him, Draco's expression shifts from surprise to something unreadable.
"Why are you doing this, Draco?" I ask, my voice steady but filled with urgency.
He hesitates, glancing at his friends before answering. "Because it's easier to push you away than admit I might actually care."
Blaise steps forward, his eyes narrowing. "Then stop hiding behind your arrogance and prove it."
Draco's eyes flicker between us, his jaw clenches.
He takes a step toward me, and the crowd quiets, their whispers dying away.
The only sound is the echo of our footsteps in the corridor.
Students press themselves against the walls, creating a path between Draco and me.
I stand my ground, refusing to back down.
My grip tightens on my wand, but I don't raise it.
Blaise shifts beside me, ready to intervene if necessary.
Draco's usual swagger is gone; his shoulders are tense, and his pale face is flushed with a mix of anger and something else I can't quite place.
He stops an arm's length away from me, close enough that I can see the conflict in his grey eyes.
His adam's apple bobs as he swallows hard.
"I'm tired of pretending, alright?" Draco's voice cracks slightly, betraying his inner turmoil.
Blaise crosses his arms, his expression softening. "Then stop pretending and be honest with yourself for once."
Draco's gaze locks onto mine, vulnerability flickering in his eyes. "I don't know how."
I watch as Draco's hands tremble slightly, his usual composure cracking.
He runs a hand through his perfectly styled blonde hair, messing it up in a way that's endearing.
The crowd holds its collective breath as he takes another hesitant step toward me.
His grey eyes lock onto mine, and for the first time, there's no trace of mockery or disdain.
"I've been horrible to you because..."
His voice breaks, and my heart skips a beat.
He takes another step closer, and I can see the rapid pulse in his throat.
Blaise's protective presence fades into the background as Draco reaches out, his fingers brushing against mine.
Electricity courses through me at the touch.
"I'm in love with you, Madi," he whispers, his voice barely audible over the pounding of my heart.
Blaise's eyes widen slightly, but he remains silent, giving us space.
I blink, trying to process his words, my mind racing. "Draco, I—"
He cuts me off gently, his voice more confident now. "I know I've messed up, but I want to make it right if you'll let me."
