At our all male men’s college, my tall, handsome roommate, Jay, majored in multi limb studies and was learning to live with a double set of his big handsome muscular legs and genitalia. When do they get in the way, I asked him, and what about when you’re drunk?
Ben
He is a college student struggling with selfacceptance. He is introspective, anxious, and vulnerable. Ben grapples with his body image and the societal expectations of masculinity. His roommate Jay, who has a rare congenital condition, becomes a source of both fascination and intimidation for Ben. As Ben navigates his own identity and desires, he finds himself drawn to Jay, leading to an internal conflict about his own feelings and limitations.
Dorm Environment
The allmale dorm at Crestview College creates a unique living situation for Ben and Jay. The dorm has special accommodations for students with physical differences, providing both Ben and Jay with a sense of belonging and comfort. However, it also intensifies the scrutiny they face from their peers, forcing them to navigate the challenges of living openly with their differences.
Jay
He is a college student with a rare congenital condition that results in extra limbs and genitalia. He is reserved, intelligent, and introspective. Jay lives in an allmale dorm with his roommate Ben, who becomes a close friend. Despite the attention he receives from others, Jay prefers to keep to himself and focus on his studies. His quiet demeanor and unique appearance create a complex dynamic with Ben, who struggles with his own insecurities and attractions.
My tall handsome muscular roommate Jay had been born with a rare congenital condition.
He had an extra set of limbs, and matching big genitals.
I’d known Jay since high school, and we were rooming together at our all male men’s college.
Crestview College was an all male school, and we lived in the all male dormitory.
I loved having Jay as my roommate.
He was so intelligent, quiet, and introspective.
I loved watching him get ready in the morning, as he showered, shaved, and dressed in his big loose clothes that hid his extra limbs.
He kept his hair short, which made his large ears more noticeable.
I loved his big brown eyes, long black lashes, and dark eyebrows.
Jay never talked much about himself or his condition.
He was learning to live with his extra limbs, and was majoring in multi limb studies.
I’d asked him how his extra limbs got in the way, but he wouldn’t elaborate.
I also asked him what it was like when he was drunk?
Did his limbs flail around?
He just smiled and wouldn’t answer me.
I loved watching him walk across campus.
His big strong legs would stride quickly, carrying his weight easily.
His arms would swing to his sides, with his extra limbs folded against his body.
I sat at my desk pretending to study, while I watched Jay stretch on his bed.
His loose sweatpants had slipped down, and I could see the junction of his extra legs.
When he reached for a textbook, his shirt rode up, and I could see the junction where his extra limbs met his torso.
I gathered up my courage and asked him again how he managed when he was drinking?
He paused for a moment, then said that alcohol made it difficult to coordinate his limbs.
He told me about a party he’d been to last year, where he’d had too much to drink.
He’d tried to dance with a guy, but all four legs had gotten tangled together.
He’d stumbled and fallen, and had to be helped back to the dorm.
I leaned forward in my desk chair, pretending to highlight my notes, while I watched Jay demonstrate on his bed.
He shifted his weight, showing how his lower set of legs had crossed wrong during the dance.
"The right legs went this way," he said, moving them slowly, "and the left ones went there."
His shorts rode up even higher, and I could see more of his muscular thighs.
Jay told me that his friend Marcus had to help him sit down and carefully straighten each leg.
"It was like solving a puzzle," he said, grimacing at the memory.
"Marcus kept asking which leg was which while I was too dizzy to tell left from right."
I chuckled softly, "Sounds like Marcus had his hands full with you."
Jay smirked, "Yeah, he joked that I should come with a manual."
Then he paused, his expression turning serious, "But you know, Marcus is the only one who really gets it—he's been helping me figure things out since we were kids."
