Chapter 1
I was sitting on the steps outside the school, my head in my hands, when I heard her voice.
"Are you okay?"
I looked up to see a girl standing in front of me.
She was tall and thin with fiery red hair and piercing green eyes.
She was beautiful, but that wasn’t what caught my attention.
It was the fact that she was talking to me.
I’d been going to this school for almost two years now, and no one had ever talked to me before.
I was the weird kid, the one who got picked on and shoved into lockers on a daily basis.
The one who didn’t have any friends.
Jason looked up, surprised.
"Uh, yeah, I'm fine," he mumbled, clearly lying.
I sat down beside him, ignoring the curious stares from passing students.
"I'm Emily," I said, extending my hand.
He hesitated for a moment before shaking it. "Jason."
"So, Jason," I began, leaning in slightly, "why do you look like the world just ended?"
He sighed deeply. "It's nothing. Just... school stuff."
I raised an eyebrow. "School stuff? Like getting shoved into lockers and picked on every day?"
His eyes widened. "How did you know?"
"I've seen it happen," I replied softly. "And I think it's time someone did something about it."
Jason's face twisted in confusion and a hint of hope. "What can you do? They're relentless."

I leaned back, my eyes flashing with determination. "My mother is a demon goddess. She can help."
Jason blinked at me, then laughed nervously. "Yeah, right. And I'm the King of England."
"I'm serious," I insisted. "Meet me after school. I'll prove it to you."
He looked at me skeptically but nodded slowly. "Okay. But if this is some kind of joke..."
"It's not," I assured him.
The rest of the school day dragged on painfully slow. My mind kept drifting back to Jason and the promise I'd made him. When the final bell rang, I rushed to our meeting spot by the old oak tree.
Jason was already there, pacing nervously.
"Ready?" I asked.
He nodded, though his face betrayed his anxiety.

We walked in silence for a while, the suburban houses giving way to more isolated properties as we neared the outskirts of town.
"Where are we going?" Jason finally asked.
"To my house," I replied simply.
He swallowed hard but said nothing more.
As we approached the old mansion, its looming structure cast long shadows across the ground. The place had always given off an eerie vibe, even to me.
I knocked on the heavy wooden door, and it creaked open slowly as if pushed by an invisible hand.
Inside, shadows seemed to move unnaturally along the walls.
Jason hesitated at the threshold. "Are you sure about this?"
"Trust me," I said firmly, taking his hand and pulling him inside.
A deep voice echoed through the dimly lit hallway. "Welcome, Jason."
