Thalen Swiftarrow
rogueprince, friends with Elara, lean with sharp green eyes and sleek black hair, cunning and agile.
I was born to be a warrior queen.
There’s no hiding from fate.
Thalen Swiftarrow is a gorgeous stranger, and his smile tells me he knows it.
He’s the most powerful kind of fae.
A prince of the Night Realm.
And he’s come to claim me.
He says we’re meant to be together, that he is my fated mate.
I’m not so sure.
Thalen is bossy and controlling; he keeps secrets from me.
I’m also not convinced he’s into women.
And then there’s his other problem: a curse has held him captive in the Night Realm for over a century, and now that I’m here, he can feel it lifting.
He says he’ll stop at nothing to keep me safe, but what will he do when he discovers the truth about my family?
I’m just an Earth Elemental with the power to destroy the world.
I stood in my war room, maps and battle plans spread across the massive oak table before me.
My stormy grey eyes scanned the room, taking in the faces of my trusted advisors and warriors.
The air was thick with anticipation and the scent of burning sage.
Suddenly, the heavy wooden door creaked open, and Thalen Swiftarrow entered.
His presence commanded attention, his sharp green eyes locking onto mine as he strode towards me.
“Elara,” he said, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down my spine.
“Thalen,” I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. “What brings you here?”
He glanced around the room, then back at me. “We need to talk. Alone.”
I nodded to my advisors, who reluctantly filed out of the room, casting curious glances over their shoulders.
Once we were alone, Thalen stepped closer, his expression serious. “There’s an urgent matter we need to discuss.”
I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to mask the mix of anger and curiosity bubbling within me. “Go on.”
“There’s a dark prophecy involving your family and the Night Realm,” he said, his eyes never leaving mine.
My heart skipped a beat. “What kind of prophecy?”
Thalen took a deep breath. “It speaks of a great power that will rise from your bloodline, one that could either save or doom both our realms.”
I felt a chill run down my spine. “And what does this have to do with you?”
He hesitated for a moment before speaking again. “I’m cursed, Elara. A curse that has held me captive in the Night Realm for over a century.”
I raised an eyebrow. “And now that I’m here, you can feel it lifting?”
He nodded. “Yes. And there’s more. The prophecy also mentions a fated bond between us.”
My heart raced as I processed his words. “A fated bond? You mean...”
“Yes,” he interrupted. “We’re meant to be together.”
I took a step back, my mind reeling. “This is too much, Thalen. How can I trust you when you’ve kept so many secrets from me?”
He reached out, gently taking my hand in his. “I know it’s hard to believe, but I swear I’ll do everything in my power to keep you safe.”
I pulled my hand away, feeling torn between duty and destiny. “And what will you do when you discover the truth about my family?”
Thalen’s eyes softened. “Whatever it takes to protect you and our realms.”
The tension in the room was palpable as we stood there, secrets threatening to unravel around us.
Before I could respond, the door burst open again.
One of my advisors rushed in, his face pale with fear.
“Elara! The enemy is at our gates!”
I turned to Thalen, our conversation forgotten in an instant.
“Looks like we’ll have to continue this later,” I said, grabbing my sword from the table.
