A demon rock band must collect souls as they have done throughout the years. Never have they come across someone whose soul shone brighter than the rest and wasn’t attainable until she walked in.
Caden
He is the leader of a demon rock band. He is determined, passionate, and rebellious. Caden has spent his life collecting souls from concerts, never feeling a connection until he met her. Her soul is unlike anything he's ever experienced, captivating him completely. Despite his demonic nature, he feels an intense bond with her, wanting to explore this new connection. This encounter changes him, pushing him to explore emotions he never thought possible.
Mason
He is a member of the demon rock band. He is playful, mischievous, and protective. Mason shares a bond with Caden and the rest of the band. He's intrigued by the woman they've found and wants to learn more about her. His playful demeanor often balances out Caden’s seriousness, but he takes his role in the band seriously. Mason helps collect souls but prioritizes their mission to understand and connect with their newfound subject.
Rion
He is a member of the demon rock band. He is curious, fierce, and perceptive. Rion senses things that others do not, including the changed atmosphere when they meet the woman. His protective nature over his bandmates shows when he warns them about potential dangers while still being curious about this new subject they've found. His balance between caution and curiosity is evident in his interactions with his bandmates and their new acquaintance.
We’ve been collecting souls for years.
Doing the same job, day in and day out, never experiencing a single emotion.
Until she walked in.
Her soul was different.
Shining brighter than any I’d ever seen before.
When I touched her, I felt her pain, her sorrow, her fear.
I felt everything.
For the first time in my life, I was aware of my own emotions.
I had a purpose, other than just existing.
I had to have her.
I had to find out who she was and why her soul shone so bright.
She was special, different from the rest of the mortals.
And I would do whatever it took to get her soul and make her mine.
As soon as we finished the concert, we left through the back door.
The crowd of fans rushed to the front, trying to get a glimpse of us and maybe even touching us.
We were used to this; it was part of being in a rock band.
But tonight, something was different.
I couldn’t put my finger on what it was exactly, but I could feel it in the air.
It was like a charge of electricity.
I push through the throng of screaming fans, their souls dim and unremarkable compared to her radiant light.
Mason and Ryker flank me, keeping the crowd at bay while Rion circles the perimeter.
The familiar electric tingle of soul energy buzzes against my skin, but I’m searching for that unique frequency - her frequency.
Fans grab at my leather jacket, their fingers leaving trails of weak soul residue.
A flash of brilliant light catches my peripheral vision near the tour bus.
My head snaps toward it, muscles tensing.
There, partially hidden behind a group of enthusiastic teenagers, I spot her luminous soul pulsing like a beacon.
She’s trying to blend in, but to my eyes, she might as well be a star among candles.
I take a step forward, determined to claim what fate has marked as mine.
I weave between the teenagers, their souls flickering weakly as they scatter.
She backs away, her luminous soul pulsing faster with each step.
The intensity of her energy makes my hands tremble - a foreign sensation after centuries of feeling nothing.
When she stumbles against the tour bus, I trap her between my arms, palms pressed against the metal.
Up close, her soul's brilliance is blinding, its warmth seeping into my cold essence.
She meets my gaze, defiant despite her trembling lips.
Her soul's light flickers wildly as I invade her space, casting dancing shadows across her face.
The scent of her fear mingles with something sweeter - curiosity perhaps.
Mason and Ryker form a barrier between us and the crowd, but I barely notice them now.
My focus narrows to her rapid breathing, the way she presses herself against the cool metal of the bus.
Yet she doesn't scream or try to escape.
Instead, she tilts her chin up, challenging me.
The defiance in her gaze sparks something primal within me.
My body moves of its own accord, drawn to her like a moth to flame.
