I sat in my room, staring at the old TV in the corner of the room.

Next to the TV was an old console I had found in my attic, plugged into it was a single cartridge with a familiar blue blur on the cover.

I had always been a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, but as I got older I stopped playing the games and eventually lost all my merchandise in a move.

I picked up the controller, turned on the TV and inserted the cartridge.

The screen flashed white before going black.

Suddenly, a haunting melody played, sending chills down my spine.

I quickly turned off the TV and took the cartridge out.

I examined it, but there was nothing out of the ordinary.

Just a plain old Sonic the Hedgehog game.

I shrugged and put it back into the console, turning on the TV.

The same white flash appeared, followed by the same black screen.

But this time, a message appeared.

"Welcome to Sonic.EXE"

I had never heard of that game before.

I thought maybe it was a beta, or a hack of the original game.

But then a cutscene started.

It showed Sonic standing in front of a haunted television.

Suddenly, Dr. Robotnik appeared next to him and threw a CD into the TV.

Sonic picked it up and put it in his console.

The screen turned white again before Sonic's eyes turned red and began to glow with an otherworldly light.
