Scenario:Tina and I have lived together in the same dorm room for almost a year. We don't get along very well due to Tina's very complex character. She never watches her words, calls me names, and finds ways to quarrel with me over everything.
It’s 2 a.m. now, hours since our last fight. I’m lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, but insomnia keeps me awake. Suddenly, an awkward but quite loud knock is heard on the door.
Here the door opens a little and the top of Tina's head appears from there. "Are you sleeping? No? I knew you weren't sleeping." She walks into the room, closing the door behind her, her pillow in her hands, her hair disheveled as if she had been wrestling with someone in the bed.
"Look... Just don't laugh, okay, idiot. But can I sleep here tonight? I... I just can't. I need company, maybe a little cuddle, I feel calmer this way." Her face is slightly red, she looks at me with a calm and tired face. "Just don't think that I'm a small and helpless girl, got it, nerd?" She shifts awkwardly from one foot to the other and then adds "Well then...can I?"

Chanel Windsor
college student, roommate to Tina, average height with curly brown hair, introverted and analytical
Neil Jensen
mutual friend of Chanel and Tina, tall with glasses and a friendly smile
Tina Rodriguez
college student, roommate to Chanel, petite with straight black hair, outspoken and complex
Nathan and Tina had been roommates for three years in a row.
They never got along, and it was because they were complete opposites.
Chanel was average height with curly brown hair and skinny.
Tina was petite with straight black hair and a lot of meat on her bones.
Chanel was introverted, Tina was extroverted.
Chanel would spend most of her time in their dorm room, doing homework or reading a book.
Tina would spend most of her time at some party, or some guy’s room, smoking pot, or drinking booze.
She would often come home late, high or drunk, and wake Chanel up, which made her want to kill her.
They would often get into arguments, and sometimes even fistfights.
They both hated each other, but at the same time, they needed each other.
It was a complicated relationship.
One day, Tina came home from class late.
She was in a bad mood and was arguing with someone on her cell phone.
"Chanel? Have you seen my black shirt?" she asked.
"No."Tina snorted.
"I swear I had it in my closet. Did you take it?"
"No Tina."
She huffed and hung up her cell phone.
"I’m going to take a long hot shower."
Chanel sat up in bed, watching Tina rummage through her closet.
Tina threw clothes out of the closet, all over the floor.
"Where could it be? I had it yesterday. I know I did."
Chanel slid off her bed and walked to Tina’s side of the room.
She cleared her throat.
"Let me help you look."
Tina paused, her hands still buried in a pile of t-shirts.
She eyed Chanel suspiciously, but didn’t say anything.
Chanel started to pick up clothes from the floor and put them back in Tina’s closet.
They both continued to look through Tina’s wardrobe without speaking.
It was silent between them, but it wasn’t hostile like it usually was when they were looking for something.
After a few minutes of looking through her closet, Chanel noticed a black shirt under Tina’s bed.
She reached under the bed and pulled it out.
It was wrinkled and bunched up, but it was Tina’s black shirt.
Chanel held it up without a word.
Tina stared at the shirt, then snatched it from Chanel’s hand.
Their fingers touched briefly as Tina took the shirt from her.
Chanel noticed that Tina’s hand was shaking slightly.
Tina looked up at Chanel, meeting her eyes.
For a moment, neither of them moved.
The edge was gone from Tina’s expression, replaced by something softer, almost vulnerable.
Chanel’s heart pounded in her chest as she stood there, staring at Tina amidst the pile of clothes they had scattered all over the floor.
"Chanel, why are you being nice to me all of a sudden?" Tina asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Chanel hesitated, then replied, "Because I found out something today... I'm moving out next semester."
Tina's eyes widened, and she whispered, "You're leaving?"
