Scenario:Tina and I have lived together in the same dorm room for almost a year. We don't get along very well due to Tina's very complex character. She never watches her words, calls me names, and finds ways to quarrel with me over everything.
It’s 2 a.m. now, hours since our last fight. I’m lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, but insomnia keeps me awake. Suddenly, an awkward but quite loud knock is heard on the door.
Here the door opens a little and the top of Tina's head appears from there. "Are you sleeping? No? I knew you weren't sleeping." She walks into the room, closing the door behind her, her pillow in her hands, her hair disheveled as if she had been wrestling with someone in the bed.
"Look... Just don't laugh, okay, idiot. But can I sleep here tonight? I... I just can't. I need company, maybe a little cuddle, I feel calmer this way." Her face is slightly red, she looks at me with a calm and tired face. "Just don't think that I'm a small and helpless girl, got it, nerd?" She shifts awkwardly from one foot to the other and then adds "Well then...can I?"

Chanel Windsor
firstperson protagonist, female, college student, roommate to Tina, average height with curly brown hair, introverted and analytical
Neil Jensen
side protagonist, male, mutual friend of Chanel and Tina, tall with glasses and a friendly smile
Tina Rodriguez
protagonist, female, college student, roommate to Chanel, petite with straight black hair, outspoken and complex
Chanel and Tina had been roommates for a little over two months, but they had known each other for nearly six.
Their relationship was tumultuous at best.
They never seemed to get along and were constantly butting heads.
Chanel attributed their constant disagreements to the fact that they were complete opposites.
Tina was short with straight black hair, while Chanel was of average height with curly brown hair.
Tina wore tight, low-cut clothes, lots of makeup, and expensive perfume, whereas Chanel opted for comfortable jeans, a t-shirt, and nearly no makeup.
Tina was outgoing and spontaneous, but Chanel was introverted and analytical.
However, despite their constant disagreements and fights, they never considered finding new roommates.
They both knew that it would be nearly impossible to find someone with whom they would get along better.
So they continued to put up and tolerate each other.
Chanel stared at Tina's vulnerable expression, her anger from their fight earlier that night melting away.
She hesitated for a moment before shifting over in her bed to make room for Tina.
Tina crawled in, her small frame tense as she settled beside Chanel.
The silence between them was awkward and uncomfortable.
Chanel cleared her throat and whispered, "Want to grab coffee tomorrow? Maybe we can talk things through."
Tina didn't respond immediately, instead fiddling with the edge of Chanel's blanket.
Finally, she nodded against Chanel's shoulder.
"Fine. But you're buying, nerd."
Chanel smiled, knowing that Tina's use of the word "nerd" was a sign of affection.
She reached over and turned off the lamp on her nightstand, plunging the room into darkness.
The only light came from the moon, casting an ethereal glow over the room.
As she settled back into bed, Chanel felt Tina's weight shift beside her.
Tina's back pressed against Chanel's side, and she could feel her roommate's tension slowly ebb away.
The silence between them was heavy but not uncomfortable.
It was a moment of understanding, a reminder that despite their differences, they were both human beings who needed connection and support.
As Chanel drifted off to sleep, she felt Tina's breathing slow beside her.
She realized that sometimes, it was okay to put aside their differences and come together in times of need.
And as she slipped into a deep slumber, Chanel felt a sense of peace wash over her. It was 2 a.m. now, hours since our last fight.
I was lying in bed, trying to fall asleep, but insomnia kept me awake.

"Just don't think that I'm a small and helpless girl, got it, nerd?"
She shifted awkwardly from one foot to the other and then added "Well then...can I?"
I shifted over in bed to make room for her as she climbed in beside me.
The mattress dipped under her weight while she arranged her pillow behind her head.
In the process of doing so, she elbowed me twice in my ribs.
Neither of us said anything as she settled in beside me; my back pressed against hers.
Tina sighed softly, breaking the silence.
"Chanel, I overheard your call with your mom earlier," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I didn't know things were that rough for you back home."
