I am a teen model, but I don’t look like one.
I am petite, skinny, and not at all athletic.
I am the exact opposite of my friend Jax, who is also a teen model.
He is tall, athletic-built, and way older than me.
People always ask how come two models with different body types and ages are close friends.
My answer is simple: I look up to him—literally.
He inspires me to become a professional athlete someday.
Even though I am petite and skinny, I want to become an athlete.
I want to prove to myself that even though I am small, I can still do big things.
"Okay girls let’s get started," says the organizer of the event as we pose in our bikinis during a photo shoot here at the waterpark.
I stand next to a female teen model who is much taller than me.
We are both wearing bikinis but in different colors.
She is wearing a red bikini while I am wearing a blue one.
The photographer starts taking our pictures, and I feel the height difference between me and my partner.
I am only 4’11" while she is 5’8".
"Girls, move closer to the water slide," says the photographer as we walk towards the water slide.
I look at Jax, who is standing beside the pool, and he gives me a thumbs-up.
We walk slowly towards the water slide, and my partner’s long strides make me quicken my pace.
"Okay girls, stop there," says the organizer as she adjusts our positions.
"Okay, girls, let’s take a break," says the photographer as we walk away from the water slide.
My partner walks towards me and smiles.
"Hi, I’m Sarah," she says, extending her hand for a handshake.
"Hi, I’m Bella," I say as I shake her hand.
"So, Bella, how old are you?" she asks.
"I am 13 years old," I reply.
"Oh wow, you’re young," she says with a smile.
"Yeah, but you’re tall," I say with a smile.
"Yeah, but sometimes being tall is a disadvantage," she says with a laugh.
"I don’t think so," I say with a smile.

"Oh yeah? Then why did I trip on this wet floor?" she asks as she falls on the wet floor near the water slide.
I run towards her and help her up.
"Are you okay?"
I ask her with concern in my voice.
"Yeah, but my ankle hurts like hell," she says with a grimace on her face. "Let me help you," I say as I support her weight on my shoulder.
"Yeah, I’m fine," she says as she stands up.
"I just need to sit down for a while."
"Okay, let me help you," I say as I position myself under her arm.
I help her stand up and we hobble towards a bench near the pool.
We sit on the bench, and she grimaces in pain.
"I think I twisted my ankle," she says with a grimace.
"Maybe we should wait for someone to help us," I say as I nod.
She nods, but I feel a surge of determination in me.
I stand up and position myself in front of her.

With a determined breath, I scoop her up effortlessly, cradling her securely in my arms as I stride purposefully towards the medic station.
Her eyes widen in shock as I carry her towards the medic station.
Each step feels like a testament to my strength, proving to myself and others that I am capable.
Jax watches from a distance, a proud smile on his face.
I carefully navigate through the crowded waterpark, balancing Sarah’s weight in my arms.
Her red bikini contrasts with my blue one as she holds onto my shoulders.
The concrete path beneath my bare feet feels rough, and water drips from both our suits, making each step slippery.
Ahead, I spot the red cross sign indicating the medic station and adjust my grip on Sarah.
I refuse to drop her now that I have made it this far.

With every movement, Sarah winces in pain, her ankle twisted at an awkward angle.
I slow my pace to minimize her discomfort, focusing on each deliberate step.
I navigate through the final stretch of walkway, my muscles trembling from her weight.
The medic station’s door stands open, revealing an empty desk inside.
Sweat drips down my face as I carefully maneuver us through the doorframe, making sure not to bump Sarah’s injured ankle against anything.
The air conditioning hits our wet skin, causing both of us to shiver.
Against the far wall stands a cot, but I hesitate, unsure if I can make it that far.
