But I didn’t care, I was in love with him.
We did break up for a while but got back together again.
Then we got engaged and were going to get married but broke up again.
I was heartbroken, so I thought I would never see him again.
But then Vince McMahon gave me a job on Smackdown, which made me happy because I would see my boyfriend every week.
But then Vince got his stupid idea of splitting the WWF into two different shows, Raw and Smackdown, and he made me work on Raw instead of Smackdown.
I was so upset because I wouldn’t be able to see my boyfriend every week like I used to do.
I was so miserable working on Raw that I started to self-harm; I cut my arms and legs.
I started to cry less and less, until I stopped altogether.
I became depressed; I didn’t eat or sleep for three days straight.
I called Brian crying, telling him that I hated working on Raw and wanted to work on Smackdown instead.
I pace around the locker room, my phone clutched to my chest after hanging up with Brian.
The fluorescent lights buzz overhead, casting a sterile glow on the rows of lockers.
I hear commotion coming from outside the locker room.
Other wrestlers are whispering to each other about raised voices coming from Vince's office.
The walls are thin, and I can make out snippets of my dad's booming voice.
"My daughter... your stupid decision... fix this now!"
I hold my breath, waiting for Vince's response.
But all I hear is silence.
Then, Jerry Lawler's distinctive Memphis drawl echoes down the corridor.
"I'm going to sue you for everything you've got if you don't fix this right now, Vince!"
A few minutes later, Vince's door slams twice in quick succession.
