I'd been home from the office for about ten minutes, just long enough to drop my briefcase by the door and slip out of my pumps, when I heard the doorbell ring.
I knew who it was.
My new Maidbot had arrived.
I was a little nervous about trying one of these personal androids, but I'd heard great things about them.
Having a clone of myself do my household chores sounded awesome.
I was busy most of the time, so having someone to do my laundry, clean the condo, and cook my meals would be great.
The fact that she looked identical to me was just icing on the cake.
I could just have her answer the door for any unexpected visitors, rather than letting everyone see me in my casual weekend attire.
I made my way to the front door and opened it.
Standing on my front porch was a woman who looked identical to me.
"Hello," she said with a smile, looking a little nervous.
"Emily?"
"Yes."
"Then I am your Maidbot."
She held out a small box.
"Here is the activation code. Once you enter it, I will be bound to serve you."
She looked and sounded identical to me, which was kind of weird.
