"Kurama! What are you doing here?"
Hiei asked.
I was surprised to see him, Kuwabara, and Boton along with Koenma when I arrived at Yusuke's place.
I didn't know that he was going there as well.
"I came here to meet Yusuke Urameshi," I told him.
"Me too," Hiei said.
"Is that so?" I asked him.
Then I looked at the others.
"And what about you three?"
"Same here," Kuwabara told me.
"Yusuke invited me," Koenma told me.
"I'm just tagging along," Boton said.
I didn't say anything else because I was confused.
I thought that Yusuke wanted to meet me, but it seemed like he invited everyone.
"Hey! That's Yusuke's house over there," Kuwabara said while pointing at a house.
We walked toward the house and when we arrived, we were shocked to see a little boy who was sitting on the porch.
"Hello," the little boy said while waving his hand at us.
"Hi there little boy," Kuwabara told him.
"Who are you?"
I asked him.
"My name is James Urameshi," he told us.
We were shocked to hear that he was Yusuke's little brother.
None of us knew that he had a little brother.
I watched as Kuwabara slowly walked toward the little boy.
He was being careful not to scare him.
The little boy was rocking back and forth on the porch while looking at a point in front of him.
When Kuwabara arrived in front of him, he stopped rocking and looked at Kuwabara's orange hair.
Then he reached out his hand to touch it.
Hiei tensed behind me, but I raised my hand a little bit to stop him from doing anything.
The little boy suddenly pulled his hand back and started flapping it while saying, "No powers."
Then he said, "But I can name every plant in mom's garden."
He pointed at each flower and named them one by one using their scientific names.
While he was naming the plants, I noticed that he suddenly stopped and looked up at Kuwabara.
He started rocking back and forth again while holding his head.
His rocking became more intense, and I could feel that the air around us started to thicken with spirit energy.
Then I noticed that his eyes were slowly changing color.
They first turned into a light blue glow before turning into a bright green.
Yusuke suddenly came out of the house and ran to his little brother's side, but I stopped him before he could reach James.
I knew that the boy was going through Mazoku awakening, and if he didn't control his powers, then he could end up destroying everything around him.
I looked at Kuwabara and signaled him to help me contain the spirit energy.
I could feel that James's powers were growing by the second.
The plants in the garden started to shake as well, like they were responding to the little boy's powers. I was about to tell Hiei to help me contain the spirit energy when James suddenly pointed at a rose bush that had withered due to lack of water.
The plant suddenly came back to life, its stems stretching towards James's direction.
I stepped closer to James and watched as Kuwabara tried to calm him down.
The spirit energy continued to pulse around us, making the plants in the garden sway unnaturally.
James's rocking slowed down a bit when Kuwabara touched his shoulder, but his eyes were still that unsettling green.
The rose bush he revived stretched even further, its stems now wrapping around James's ankles.
I noticed that James's breathing was becoming erratic, which meant that the Mazoku transformation wasn't stabilizing properly.
Yusuke tried to move forward again, but I grabbed his arm firmly.
"Wait," I whispered, nodding towards Kuwabara as he started humming a soft tune.
Kuwabara's voice was gentle, "Hey, little guy, can you hear me?"
James's rocking slowed even more, and he nodded slightly, his eyes flickering between green and blue.
"Focus on my voice, James," Kuwabara continued softly, "We're here to help you, okay?"
I moved closer, watching as James's spirit energy continued to fluctuate.
The plants in the garden swayed more erratically, responding to his unstable power.
Kuwabara kept humming while James rocked back and forth, his eyes still flickering between green and blue.
Suddenly, small sparks of gold began appearing around his body.
The rose bush that had wrapped itself around his ankles started to loosen its grip.
The sparks grew in number, connecting into streams of golden light.
The spirit energy around us shifted from chaotic pulses to steady waves.
James stopped rocking and looked directly at me.
His eyes were no longer green or blue but now ringed with gold.
James's voice was soft but clear, "I can feel everything... it's like the garden is talking to me."
Kuwabara nodded, his tone encouraging, "That's right, James. You're connected to it all, but you need to guide it, not let it control you."
Yusuke stepped closer, his voice filled with awe and concern, "You're stronger than I ever imagined, little brother. Let's figure this out together."
I knelt down beside James, watching as the spirit energy continued to flow in steady waves around him.
The golden light intensified, focusing downward where his feet touched the garden soil.
Suddenly, a small sprout emerged from the ground, pushing through the earth with supernatural speed.
The stem grew thicker and metallic, unfurling golden petals that caught the sunlight.
As we watched, the center of the flower began to crystallize, and its petals transformed one by one into different gemstones - ruby, sapphire, emerald, and diamond.
James reached out a trembling hand towards the flower while Yusuke grabbed my arm.
"Is this normal?"
Yusuke whispered urgently.
I held my breath as James extended his trembling fingers towards the crystalline flower.
The garden fell silent, every plant frozen in anticipation.
His fingertip made contact with a diamond petal, and a soft golden pulse rippled from the point of contact.
The wave spread outward in concentric circles, washing over the grass, trees, and flowers.
Each plant it touched straightened and brightened, as if awakening from a long sleep.
The erratic spirit energy that had been crackling through the air smoothed into a gentle current.
James's shoulders relaxed, and he smiled while tracing the metallic stem.
