the enchanting woman, meets Emily by chance, long blonde hair, blue eyes, outgoing and charismatic

lesbian, meets the enchanting woman, short black hair, green eyes, introverted yet curious

I was lost in thought, staring at the picture of the two women on the coffee shop's bulletin board, when I heard a voice behind me.

"Is that a picture of you?"

I turned to see who was talking to me.

A woman with the longest blonde hair I'd ever seen was standing behind me, smiling.

She had blue eyes and full lips curved into a grin.

I was so caught up in looking at her that I almost forgot to answer her question.

"No. I was just reading the flyer."

I gestured toward the board.

"Oh. Okay."

She turned back to look at the board, and I couldn't help butting in with her as she scanned the offerings.

"Karate, yoga, book club…"

She sighed and turned back to me.

"Do you come here often?"

I nodded.

"I work across the street. I come here for lunch almost every day."

"Oh. Cool. Me too. Well, not across the street. I work down the block. I'm new in town, so I'm still exploring."

She looked at me expectantly, like I was going to offer her some suggestions.

Or maybe like she wanted me to talk about myself.

I'd never been one for small talk or talking about myself much.

I tended to ask lots of questions and listen to the answers.

It made me more comfortable, and it seemed like people enjoyed talking about themselves anyway.
