MidReal Story

Captive" at First Sight

Scenario:His name is Kai. I met him at a bar. That day, I just wanted to cool down after breaking up with my boyfriend. We talked with each other, and he thought I was really cute, actually. I was sitting at the bar with my side facing him while he was facing me. I took a small sip of my drink and chuckled after something he said. He just stared down at me with a psychopath smile. He kept staring at me as I took another sip. Suddenly, I felt a little dizzy. I excused myself and went to the bathroom. I was standing in front of the sink, trying to figure out what was wrong, when suddenly the door opened. Kai stepped in, closed the door behind him, and locked it. "Wha-what are you doing?" I asked, my voice full of confusion, and I began to sway a little. "What is happening?!" Soon, I collapsed to the ground. With a small chuckle, Kai grabbed me. A few hours later, I woke up, tied up in a room. Kai soon walked in with food in his hands. My eyes widened in fear and shock, but I was still too weak to protest. "Wha-what are you doing..." He caressed my cheek lightly and whispered, "This is where you belong, just you and me." Pervert! I gasped, looking at him in disbelief and fear. He took the tray of food and put it onto the bed where I was sitting, grabbed the spoon, and shoved it into my mouth. "Don’t be scared, dear."

I was sipping on my martini at the small bar I had been going to for years.
It was a few nights after my boyfriend and I decided to go our separate ways, which had me feeling down.
My hair was in tight curls down my back, and I was wearing a little black dress.
I knew I looked good, but my exboyfriend's harsh words had me feeling otherwise.
I tried to focus on the book I had in front of me, but it was hard to concentrate when the couple next to me kept whispering and touching each other.
I focused on my drink instead, but couldn't help the sting of sadness that had me wanting to go home and cry myself to sleep.
That's when I felt a presence next to me.
"Mind if I join?"
I looked up to see a man with sharp features and a chiseled jawline.
He had a small nose and perfect lips that were curled into a charming smile.
His eyes were an intense green, and his dark hair was messy in a way that had him looking effortlessly sexy.

I gestured to the empty seat next to me, watching as he slid onto the barstool with fluid grace.
He smelled like expensive cologne, but not overpowering.
The bartender walked over and asked for his order.
"Whiskey neat," he said, his voice deep and smooth.
He turned those green eyes on me and I felt a flutter in my chest.
I quickly looked back down at my book, trying to focus.
"Interesting book?" he asked, his voice full of amusement.
I sighed inwardly, not really wanting to talk to him, but I didn't want to be rude either.
"It's alright."
I shrugged, turning the page.

He nodded thoughtfully, taking a sip of his drink when it arrived.
"What's your name?"
I asked after a few minutes of awkward silence.
"Kai," he replied easily. "Chanel," I said, smiling slightly.
"So Chanel, what brings you here tonight?" he asked, turning those green eyes on me once again.
I shrugged, not really wanting to go into details about my exboyfriend and how sad I was feeling.
"Just getting out of the house for a bit," I replied vaguely.
"What about you?"
I asked, turning the tables on him.
He smiled that perfect smile again and leaned closer to me.
"I came in here looking for someone," he said quietly.
His gaze was intense and it had me shifting uncomfortably in my seat.
"What do you do?" he asked suddenly, changing the subject again.
"I'm a nurse," I replied easily enough.
"Really? What kind of nurse?"
I sighed inwardly at all the questions and shrugged again.
"I'm a pediatric nurse. I work with kids."
"Oh," he said thoughtfully, taking another sip of his drink. "Well Chanel, it was nice meeting you," he said suddenly, standing up and tossing some money down on the bar.
He glanced at me one more time before walking away from me and out of the bar completely.
I watched him go with a sigh of relief before focusing back on my book and finishing my drink in peace.

But then I felt his presence again and looked up as he slid back onto the barstool next to me with fluid grace once again.
He glanced down at my empty martini glass and smiled that perfect smile again before turning those green eyes on me intensely.
"Would you like another?"
I stared into those eyes for a few moments before nodding slightly in agreement.
He signaled to the bartender, who slid over another martini that looked identical to the one I had just finished.
Kai watched me take a sip, his eyes lingering on my lips in a way that had me shifting uncomfortably in my seat.
I took another small sip, feeling his eyes still on me.
"Your patients must love you," he said suddenly, leaning closer to me and smelling like even more cologne than before.
"Yes, they do," I replied quietly, taking another sip of my drink.
I could feel his eyes still on me as I did so, watching the glass move from my mouth back down to the bar.
The room started to spin slightly and I felt dizzy.
I gripped the bar counter in front of me to steady myself and took another sip of my drink.
My words started to slur slightly as I tried to speak.
"Excuse me."
"Captive" at First Sight
I stood up from the barstool and started walking away from Kai. He was too quick for me though and his hand shot out to grab my elbow.
