I met a very sweet girl on campus, and she seemed to have some love for me as well
I saw her the first time I went into the coffee shop.
She was standing at the counter, and I couldn’t help but notice her.
She had shiny blonde hair that fell down her back, and she was wearing a dark blue dress with white polka dots on it.
But it was her eyes that really caught my attention.
The most piercing shade of blue I’d ever seen.
She was biting her lip as she looked up at the menu, and I had to force myself to look away, worried she’d catch me staring.
The second time I saw her was when I turned my head and saw her sitting at a table with a book.
I couldn’t help but take in the rest of her appearance while she wasn’t looking.
She was short, which was a stark contrast to my own tall frame.
And she was beautiful.
Not in the way women who put on too much makeup are beautiful, like they’re trying too hard.
But a kind of natural beauty that was hard to describe.
I’d finally managed to tear my attention away from her—again—when the barista called out my order.
I gave her a smile as I took my drink, but my eyes immediately snapped back to the girl when I heard the sound of a chair scraping over the floor.
She’d stood up and was now walking towards the counter.
Her eyes were glued to the floor while she walked, and I wondered what it would be like to stare into them up close.
But then she reached the counter and started talking to the barista, so I turned around to leave.
Only, I couldn’t help but turn back and look at her one more time.
And when I did, our eyes met.
I felt like I’d been caught doing something wrong, but then she smiled at me.
It was one of those smiles that reached all the way to your eyes and made you feel warm inside.
It was beautiful .
A smile tugged at her lips as she watched me from across the room, and I couldn’t help but smile back.
I nodded towards the counter, where her coffee was still sitting on top of it, untouched.
She gave an embarrassed laugh as she mouthed thank you before walking back towards the counter to grab it.
The barista gave her a confused look, and she pointed at me before waving her hand around in front of them.
I saw the barista smile and nod before giving her another cup with a straw in it.
When she finally looked back up at me, I held my hand up and made a shooing motion as if telling her to go back to her table.
