It was a typical Monday morning, and the city was still waking up.
The sun was slowly peeking over the tall skyscrapers, and the traffic was starting to pick up.
People were slowly pouring out onto the sidewalks to head to their 9 to 5 jobs.
I was no different, except today I decided to take a different route to the office.
Instead of walking down 5th Avenue, I took a detour through the Village.
I loved the Village.
It was so different from the rest of Manhattan.
It had a more laid back feel to it, and it wasn't as commercialized.
I enjoyed walking up the narrow streets and taking in all the sights.
There were tons of little corner delis, coffee shops, and boutiques that lined both sides of the street.
They all blended in so perfectly with the brownstones and tenements that surrounded them.
It was a charming area, and it always felt so welcoming.
As I walked, my stomach started to growl.
I hadn't had breakfast yet, and I was officially starving.
I decided to stop at a little coffee shop that I had passed with the cutest awning.
It read "The Daily Grind" in fancy script, and had what looked like a French press coffee maker taking center stage in the window.
I walked inside, and it smelled like freshly brewed coffee and baked goods.
