Jace
The first time I saw her, she was standing in front of a painting, her dark hair falling down her back like a waterfall of night.
She was turned away from me, lost in thought, unaware that I was watching her.
I was aware of nothing else.
The other people in the gallery faded into the background.
The music, the wine, the art.
None of it mattered.
There was only one thing that did: her.
I wanted to know her name, what she looked like from the front, where she came from, what she did for a living.
Most of all, I wanted to know why she seemed to vibrate with an otherworldly energy, as if she were a conduit to something beyond this world.
I moved closer to get a better look at the tag on the painting in front of her.
It was a beautiful piece, modern and bold, but not nearly as stunning as the woman.
As I approached, she turned, and our eyes met.
hers were green and bright, like emeralds in the sunlight.
Blood & Desire
I stepped closer, drawn by a force I couldn’t explain.
The lights of the gallery cast shadows on her face, but I could see that she was even more beautiful than I had imagined.
Her skin was smooth and creamy, her lips full and inviting.
And those eyes.
They were mesmerizing, hypnotic.
I felt myself getting lost in them, drowning in their depths.
I held out my hand.
"Jace Sterling," I said, my voice shaking slightly.
She looked at my hand for a moment before taking it.
Her fingers were cool and smooth against mine.
Blood & Desire
"Maggie," she replied, her voice low and husky.
Our hands lingered together longer than necessary, but neither of us seemed to want to break the connection.
I could feel goosebumps rising on her bare arms, and I knew that she was feeling the same electricity that I was. Finally, I released her hand and gestured to the painting beside us.
"It’s beautiful," I said, trying to sound suave despite the fact that my heart was racing and my palms were sweating.
"Yes," she replied, turning back to look at the artwork.
Blood & Desire
It was a swirl of dark blues and violent reds, with splashes of gold and silver that seemed to dance across the canvas.
The conversation flowed easily from there.
We talked about art and technique, inspiration and passion.
I was surprised by how much I knew about the subject.
I had always been fascinated by color theory and composition, and I found myself explaining my views on the matter to Maggie with more enthusiasm than I had expected.
As we spoke, I noticed that her hand gestures became more animated, as if she were trying to convey her emotions through movement as well as words.
I kept a careful distance between us, not wanting to invade her personal space, but I couldn’t help feeling drawn to her energy.
The gallery seemed to empty around us, but I barely registered the other visitors leaving.
I was too focused on Maggie and the painting in front of us.
It was as if time had stopped, and all that existed was the two of us and the artwork between us. As we examined the painting more closely, I noticed that Maggie leaned in closer to get a better look at a particular detail.
Her cologne filled my senses - something expensive and masculine.
Blood & Desire
I could feel her warmth radiating towards me, and I found myself wanting to reach out and touch her arm.
But I hesitated, unsure if it would be appropriate.
She seemed to sense my gaze and turned to look at me.
Our eyes met for a moment, and I felt a jolt of electricity run through my body.
Then she looked away, back at the painting.
"I love this piece," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"It’s so powerful."
"Yes," I agreed, nodding my head in agreement.
"It’s amazing how much emotion can be conveyed through color and composition."
Maggie nodded in agreement.
"I know what you mean," she said.
"There’s something about this painting that speaks to me on a deep level."
I smiled at her words.
"I know exactly what you mean," I said.
"There’s something about it that resonates with me too."
