Elsa frozen is going out from her home
Chapter 1
I had been in my ice palace for years, but I felt a deep restlessness in my soul.
I was the Ice Queen of Arendelle, and I had been alone for so long.
My sister Anna visited me often, but she had her own life to live.
She was young and beautiful, and she deserved to have a family of her own.
I didn’t want to hold her back from that.
I loved her too much to keep her away from the world.
So I stayed in my ice palace, alone with my thoughts.
It had been years since I had walked out these doors.
Years since I had felt the sun on my face.
Years since I had seen all of the beauty in the world beyond my ice palace.
Sure, Anna came to visit me often, but it just wasn’t the same as being out there with her, experiencing all that life had to offer.

My isolation only seemed to make the longing worse.
And it was during one of those long absences that something terrible happened.
Anna had gone on an adventure with her friend Kristoff, and when she came back, she was in a panic.
His sled had crashed into a tree, and he was badly hurt.
She had to carry him all the way back here, and when they arrived at the castle, she was desperate for help.
"Please," she begged me as she laid him down on my bed.
"You’re the only one who can save him."
She didn’t have to say anything more; I knew what she meant by those words.

I took a deep breath and placed my hands over his chest, letting my power flow through him.
I created an ice bath to help cool his body down and prevent further damage from being done to his internal organs.
It would help stabilize his condition until the doctor could arrive.
He was still unconscious by the time I was done, so I wrapped him in warm blankets and helped Anna get him settled into bed.
As I looked down at his face, his vulnerability struck me more than it ever had before.
He was always so strong and rugged; he never let anything bother him or get to him.
But now?

Kristoff’s arm was broken in two places and he was in a lot of pain.
There were no doctors available at this time of night, so I did what little I could to help him out until he could see one in the morning: ice packs would help reduce the swelling and numb the pain for now.
I couldn’t do much else for him at this point; he needed proper medical attention if he was ever going to be able to use that arm again.
Anna sat by his side all night long, holding his hand and whispering soothing words into his ear as he slept.

I watched them both from my perch high above the canopy of trees that surrounded my palace.
It wasn’t often that Anna came to visit me anymore, but when she did, she would bring me up-to-date on everything that was happening in Arendelle outside these walls.
She was always so vivacious and full of life; nothing seemed to be able to slow her down or get her down for long.
Beyond the Ice Palace: Elsa's Journey Unfrozen
Anna had come to visit me as soon as she could after getting Kristoff settled into bed.
She gave me a full report on what had happened, and I couldn’t help but feel guilty for not being there when they needed me most.
If I had been out with them like I used to be, maybe I could have done more to prevent this from happening in the first place.

I asked, taking my usual seat on the balcony railing as I watched him sleep with a warm blanket wrapped around his shoulders.
The sun was just starting to rise over the horizon, casting my ice palace in an ethereal glow that seemed to make everything sparkle like diamonds under its light.Kristoff didn’t respond, though he did let out a soft sigh as he continued sleeping peacefully.
His face looked so calm in that moment, despite everything that had happened yesterday…I’d never been more drawn to another human being than I was at that moment as I looked at him.

The next thing I knew, it was morning again and I was standing at Kristoff’s bedside with a tray of breakfast that I’d made just for him in my hands.

I set the tray down on the bedside table and took a seat in the chair next to his bed, watching him sleep peacefully for several minutes before he began to stir and slowly wake up.
"Good morning," I said softly as Kristoff sat up in bed and rubbed his eyes tiredly with one hand while running the other through his shaggy brown hair."Morning," he said back with a small smile when he saw me sitting there with him. "Did you sleep here all night?"
"Here and there," I replied vaguely as I stood up from my chair and made my way over to my perch by the balcony railing. "How’d you sleep?"
"Like a rock," Kristoff said happily as he climbed out of bed and made his way over to join me on the balcony. "Thanks for putting me up for these past few days, Elsa…I really appreciate it."
"The least I could do is help my sister’s boyfriend when he needs it most," I replied matter-of-factly, though there was something in my tone that made Kristoff give me an odd look as he took a seat beside me on the railing."Right…"
