I'm a bookish girl, shy and ugly.
However, my life changed totally when I drank a beverage laced with a magical potion.
Overnight, I became an alluring beauty, manipulative and ruthless.
Many boys fell in my trap and none could resist my charm.
I became the most popular girl in school.
Well, that's not all.
I also became a bitch...
"Are you ready?"
Jason asked me through the phone.
Yes, I still kept some good friends.
Among them was Jason Mitchell, my best friend at school.
Of course, he knew nothing about my transformation.
But I didn't want to give up his friendship.
"Almost," I replied softly.
"How long will it take you to come out? I'm waiting in front of the school gate."
Jason sounded a little impatient.
Furthermore, he was cursing about the traffic jam.
I reached for my black lipstick and gazed at myself in the mirror.
Wow!
How gorgeous I looked!
Lips were sexy red!
Pouting slightly, I kissed the air several times and then smiled contentedly.
"Come on," I said with a smirk.
"I'll let you have a good look at my "new face"."
After applying a thin layer of translucent powder, I was satisfied with my appearance and put down the mirror.
Then I grabbed my black handbag and walked out of the room.
My phone rang again while I was waiting for the elevator.
"Hello?"
I answered.
"Where are you? I've been waiting for a long time," Jason complained.
"I'm on my way," I replied.
The elevator doors opened and I stepped in.
As the doors closed, I could feel the eyes of others on me.
I didn't need to look at them to know that they were staring at me.
They were all shocked by my new appearance.
The elevator stopped at the ground floor and I walked out with a smile.
Students turned their heads to stare at me as I walked through the hallway.
Their eyes widened in disbelief and admiration.
I could hear some of them whispering to each other.
"Wow! Who is she? So beautiful!"
"She looks like a supermodel."
"She's so hot!"
I smiled confidently and walked towards the entrance of the school, where Jason was waiting for me.
Jason was still talking on the phone when he saw me approaching him.
He frowned slightly, looking puzzled as he tried to figure out who I was.
Then his eyes widened in shock as he realized it was me!
"Is that really you, Emily?" he asked, his voice a mix of awe and confusion.
"Yeah, it's me," I replied, trying to sound casual despite the thrill in my chest.
"But what happened to you? You look... different," he said, searching my eyes for answers.
"Yeah, it's me," I replied with a chuckle.
"I'm not Emily, Jason. It's Lily."
I walked down the hallway with Jason by my side.
We passed by many students who were chatting and laughing.
Some of them were looking at us curiously, while others were too engrossed in their own affairs to notice us.
As we walked, I caught Sarah staring at me from her locker.
She was glaring at me with narrowed eyes, her jealousy evident on her face.
I ignored her and continued walking.
Jason was still trying to wrap his head around the fact that I had changed so much overnight.
He kept glancing at me as if he couldn't believe his eyes.
We exited the school and walked towards the nearby café.
The air was crisp and refreshing, a welcome change from the stuffiness of the school hallways.
I felt invigorated as I breathed in deeply, my confidence growing with each passing moment. Jason couldn't stop staring at me as we walked.
He would glance over every now and then, his eyes filled with confusion and curiosity.
It was as if he was trying to reconcile the girl he had known for so long with this new version of me.
I could tell he was struggling to come to terms with the drastic change in my appearance and demeanor.
Finally, we arrived at the café and pushed open the door.
"Let's go inside," I said, gesturing for Jason to follow me inside.
We found a quiet table near the window and sat down, our eyes locked on each other as we tried to process everything that had happened.
I knew I had some explaining to do, but I wasn't sure where to start.
