I was still trying to figure out what was going on.
I had just found out that I could see the true nature of creatures, and now I was walking through a world of beasts.
As I walked along the path, I noticed that there were many different kinds of creatures.
Some were tall and others were small.
Some had fur and others had scales.
Some had wings and others had four legs.
I saw so many different kinds of creatures that my head was spinning.
Suddenly, I heard a rustling in the bushes.
I turned and saw a dragon emerging from the bushes.
He was huge and magnificent.
His scales shone in the sunlight like diamonds.
He looked at me with his piercing eyes, and I felt like he could see right through me.
"Hello," I said, trying to sound calm.
The dragon looked at me for a moment, then he spoke in a deep rumbling voice.
"Hello," he said.
"My name is Arin."
"I'm Lilia," I said, trying to sound confident.
Arin looked at me for a moment, then he nodded his great head.
"It's nice to meet you, Lilia," he said.
Just then, a werewolf appeared from behind the trees.
He looked at me with his piercing eyes, then he growled when he saw the dragon.
"Hello Kaito," Arin said, looking at the werewolf.
I held my breath as they locked eyes.
Kaito's fur was standing on end, his muscles tense and ready to strike.
Arin stood perfectly still, his wings folded behind him.
His tail swished slowly back and forth, but that was the only movement he made.
The two beasts stood there for what seemed like forever, neither of them making a move.
Finally, Kaito blinked.
He looked over at me, his ears perked up and his golden eyes narrowed.
I took another step back, careful not to make any sudden movements.
My foot crunched on some fallen leaves, and Kaito's head snapped towards me.
Arin spread his wings slightly, casting a shadow over me.
I held my breath as Kaito's amber eyes locked onto mine.
His fur was dark brown, almost black, and his muscles rippled beneath it.
Arin's wing created a barrier between us, but I could still see through the thin membrane.
Kaito's ears twitched, as if he were listening to something I couldn't hear.
He took a cautious step forward, his nostrils flaring as he sniffed the air.
I noticed that one of his paws was injured - dried blood matted the fur around his claws.
Arin let out a low warning growl, and Kaito froze.
I slowly reached into my bag and pulled out the small pouch of herbs I had gathered earlier.
Kaito's eyes narrowed at my movement, but he didn't retreat.
When I extended my hand with the herbs, he tilted his head to the side, curiosity replacing aggression.
"Why would you offer me those?" Kaito asked, his voice a low growl.
"They're for your paw," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.
Arin glanced at Kaito and then back at me, his eyes softening. "He means no harm, Kaito. Trust him."
