MidReal Story

Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

I was walking down the hallway when I felt everyone's eyes on me.
I mean, it wasn't every day a new student showed up, especially not at an allgirls school.
I was the only guy in the whole school.
I had to move here because of family problems, so I didn't have a choice in the matter.
My name is Ethan Logan.
I'm sixteen years old and in my junior year.
I have messy brown hair and brown eyes.
I'm kind of tall for my age, but I'm not really sure how tall I am.
I haven't measured in a while.
I was curious about this school and what kind of girls attended it.
Would I make any friends?
Attend any parties?
Have a girlfriend?
I walked into my first class and everyone's eyes were on me once again.
I found a seat next to the window and at the back of the classroom, which was hard to do in this classroom, but I managed it.
The teacher walked in and began class.
I wasn't able to pay attention to what she was saying because I kept looking around the room at all the girls staring at me.
One girl caught my eye, though.
She had long black hair in a ponytail and was talking to the teacher before class started.
She seemed important, or maybe she was just the prettiest girl in class; that's why I noticed her.

When the bell rang for break, I knew what I had to do.
I gathered up my courage and walked over to the girl with the ponytail, who was organizing her papers at her desk.
She was still talking to the teacher, but I knew they'd have to stop soon because it was break.
As I walked up to her, my heart pounded in my chest.
I had never been this nervous in my life.
I weaved through clusters of students who were all whispering about me and watching my every move.
The girl with the ponytail looked up before I reached her, staring at me like she was trying to evaluate me or something.
I paused mid-step for a second, then continued on.
The room was silent now as everyone watched our exchange.
"Hi, I'm Ethan," I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt.

She smiled slightly and replied, "I'm Mia, and you're definitely the talk of the school."
Leaning in a bit closer, she added, "But what they don't know is that you're not just here because of family problems, are you?"
I shifted uncomfortably under her knowing gaze, but she just smiled and leaned against her desk, waiting for my answer.
The room was filled with the sounds of students chatting and laughing, but everyone kept a safe distance from us.
They were still watching me, but they didn't want to get too close.
Mia crossed her arms and tilted her head slightly.
She was wearing a light blue shirt with a few buttons undone at the top, revealing a hint of her white bra underneath.
Her eyes sparkled as she asked, "So, Ethan, why don't you tell me more about your family problems?"
I hesitated for a moment before responding.
"Look, it's really not that interesting. I just had some trouble back home and had to get out of there."
Mia raised an eyebrow and said, "That's it? You're not going to give me more than that?"
I sighed and shook my head.

"Trust me, you don't want to hear about it. It's just personal stuff."
Mia shrugged and leaned against her desk again.
"Well, if you're not going to tell me anything about yourself, then you're going to have to ask me some questions." I nodded in agreement.
"Okay. So how many students are in this school?"
Mia smiled mischievously as she replied, "There are about two hundred girls here. But now there's one more boy than there was yesterday."
I chuckled at her response and continued asking my questions.
"What kind of classes does this school offer?"
Mia thought for a second before answering.
"We have all the regular classes: math, English, history, science... We also have some art classes and a few electives like drama and dance."
I nodded as she spoke and then asked my next question.
"What kind of clubs does the school have?"
Mia seemed to consider this question carefully before answering.
"We have a few different clubs. There's a debate club, a book club, and even a club for people who like to watch movies together."
I laughed at the last one she mentioned.
"A movie-watching club? That sounds pretty cool."
Mia smiled again as she replied, "Yeah, it is. It's one of our most popular clubs."
Then Mia looked at me intensely and said, "So Ethan, now that I've answered all your questions..."
I knew what she was getting at.
"Now it's your turn," I finished for her.
Mia leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper, "Why did you really come here, Ethan?"

I hesitated, glancing around to make sure no one else could hear, then admitted, "I needed a fresh start... away from some people who weren't exactly good for me."
Her eyes softened with understanding as she replied, "Well, maybe this place can be that for you."
