MidReal Story

Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

When I walked down the hallway, the entire student body seemed to stop what they were doing.
Girls of all ages and grades stared at me with varying degrees of interest, from casual curiosity to outright hunger.
Some of them even followed me with their eyes as I continued moving forward.
I tried not to squirm under their collective gaze, but it was hard not to.
I had never been the focus of so much attention before.
I was tall and lean, with messy brown hair and dark eyes.
My family had moved around a lot, so I had learned how to adapt to new situations.
But this was my first time attending an allgirls school, and I had no idea what to expect.
As I turned a corner, I almost collided with a senior who was rushing in the opposite direction.
She had long black hair pulled back in a ponytail and a calculating look in her dark eyes.
"Excuse me," I said quickly, out of habit.
But she just gave me a cold look and kept moving.
I watched her go, feeling a little puzzled.
I had offered her my apology, so why was she looking at me like that?
Shrugging it off as mere curiosity, I continued on my way to my next class.
Among the Girls
Pulling out my schedule, I scanned the room numbers to see where I was in relation to my next class.
The hallway was a little confusing, but I thought I had it figured out.
As I walked, a group of girls sitting on the floor in front of their lockers looked up and whispered to each other.
One of them pointed at me as I walked by, but I kept my eyes fixed on the paper in my hand.
Room 204 - Literature.
I spotted the numbers ascending on the doors: 201, 202, 203… There it was.
Standing in front of the door, I hesitated for a moment.
I could see through the window that the class was already full of students.
I wondered if there would be an empty seat for me.
My hand hovered over the door handle as I heard whispers behind me. "He’s so cute!"
Among the Girls
"I know, right?"
"Is he going to sit next to us?"
"I hope so!"
I felt a surge of nervousness at their words.
I didn’t like being the center of attention like this.
But with no other choice, I gripped the door handle and pulled it open.
The room fell silent as all eyes turned to stare at me.
I scanned the room quickly, looking for an empty seat.
But every desk was already occupied by a girl who looked like she had been there all along.
"Ah, you must be Ethan," said a teacher from the front of the room.
She was standing at her desk and smiling at me warmly.
Her curly brown hair was tied back in a bun, and she wore glasses perched on the end of her nose. "Welcome to Literature. Please take a seat."
She gestured to an empty desk that had been placed at the front of the classroom.
It was right beside hers, and everyone else would be staring at my backside as they sat behind me.
I hesitated for a moment, feeling awkward under their collective gaze.
But then I realized that there was nothing else for it.
Taking a deep breath, I walked over to the desk and sat down in front of it.
The teacher smiled at me again, and then turned back to address the rest of the class.
"Class, this is Ethan, our new student," she announced, her voice carrying a note of encouragement.
A girl with bright red hair raised her hand and asked, "Miss Carter, is he going to be in the play with us?"
Among the Girls
Miss Carter chuckled softly and replied, "Well, that depends on Ethan; we do need a lead for Romeo."
I sat quietly at my desk, trying to focus on what Miss Carter was saying about Shakespeare.
But it was hard not to feel the weight of twenty pairs of eyes on my back.
The red-haired girl kept glancing at me, and I could tell that she was itching to talk.
When Miss Carter announced that the auditions for Romeo and Juliet would be held after school today, the girl turned around completely in her seat and raised her eyebrows expectantly at me.
I pretended to be absorbed in my textbook, but my mind was racing with possibilities.
Among the Girls
The bell rang, signaling the end of class, and before I could even pack up my bag, the red-haired girl had already dropped a folded piece of paper on my desk.
I stared at it for a moment, my hands hovering over it.
The classroom was emptying around me as the other students filed out, their whispers and giggles fading into the hallway.
Miss Carter was erasing the chalkboard, humming to herself.
Finally, I picked up the paper and unfolded it with trembling fingers.
I tried to act casual, but my heart was pounding in my chest.
Among the Girls
The note was written in neat, cursive handwriting:
"Meet me outside the school gates at 3:30. Come alone."
Underneath that was an address in the downtown area and a phone number.
I quickly stuffed the paper into my pocket when I saw the ponytailed senior girl lingering in the doorway, watching me with narrowed eyes.
I pulled the paper out again and read it one more time.
The handwriting was almost too perfect, and I wondered if this was some kind of setup.
Glancing out the window, I saw the red-haired girl standing by the courtyard fountain, stealing glances at me.
Lily Chen was still standing in the doorway, her arms crossed over her chest.
Miss Carter’s humming had grown fainter as she walked into her office.
Among the Girls
I stood up and walked over to the metal trash bin in the corner of the room.
My fingers traced the edges of the paper before I crumpled it up and dropped it inside.
I turned away, determined to write my own story.
Lily Chen was still standing there, her back to me.
I hesitated in the doorway, watching as she walked down the hall.
My feet moved before my brain did, and I jogged to catch up with her near the water fountain.
She spun around at the sound of my footsteps, her black ponytail whipping around.
I stopped a few feet away from her, suddenly aware of how many eyes were on us.
Among the Girls
My hand rose in an awkward wave as I stumbled over my words.
"Hey, I’m Ethan. I’m new here."
Lily Chen narrowed her eyes at me, her arms still crossed over her chest.
