MidReal Story

Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

I was in the middle of a class when I felt everyone's eyes on me.
It was as if everyone knew I was there, which was weird because I hadn't spoken to anyone yet.
I looked around the classroom and noticed that every single girl had their eyes on me.
Some were staring with lust, while others were staring with hatred.
I didn't know why, but it seemed as if they already had an opinion about me.
I didn’t mind; I was used to being stared at.
I had a tall build with brown hair that was always messily styled.
I didn’t really care about styling it because I would be in sports most of the time, and I would sweat all the styling out.
I was adaptable and liked to adjust to new things easily.
That might be why I got transferred here so easily.
It was due to family reasons, but I didn't want to get into that right now.
I focused on the teacher teaching right now.
She kept staring at me with a weird gaze, as if trying to figure out who I was.
After a few minutes of teaching, she finally asked, "Who is the boy sitting in the back? You're new here, right?"
"Yes, ma’am. My name is Ethan Logan."
Among the Girls
I stood up slowly, and I could feel thirty pairs of eyes following my movement.
The wooden chair scraped against the floor, making a slight noise that echoed through the silent classroom.
The teacher, Ms. Harrison, gestured for me to come to the front of the class.
I walked between the rows of desks, and I could see Lily Chen whispering something to her friends.
Ava Torres rolled her eyes from her corner seat.
Among the Girls
When I reached the front, I turned to face my classmates.
I had my hands in my pockets to hide the slight trembling.
Ms. Harrison asked me to tell them a little bit about myself.
I looked out at the sea of girls before me, and my eyes met a few pairs that were staring back.
My voice came out stronger than I expected.
"I'm Ethan Logan. I'm a junior. I like soccer and sci-fi. That's all, I guess."
A few giggles rippled through the room, but Ms. Harrison nodded approvingly.
Lily Chen leaned forward in her seat, looking at me with renewed interest.
Ava Torres had finally looked up from her book for the first time since I entered the room.
The silence that followed was awkward, until one girl asked, "Where did you go to school before?"
Before I could answer, another girl blurted out, "Why did you come here? This is an all-girls school!"
A few more hands shot up, and Ms. Harrison had to raise her voice to quiet everyone down.
"Let's save all the questions for lunch or after class, girls."
Among the Girls
I retreated back to my desk and sat down as quickly as possible, trying to escape the whispers that were already starting.
As I settled back into my seat, the bell rang, signaling the end of class and the beginning of something new.
I gathered my books and stood up slowly, taking my time as the other students filed out.
A few girls lingered behind, pretending to organize their bags while stealing glances at me.
Lily's friends were huddled by the door, whispering and pointing in my direction.
Ava brushed past them with a scoff, her bright red hair catching the fluorescent light.
Finally, I stepped into the hallway, and the corridor fell into a strange hush.
Among the Girls
Students parted like water, creating a path for me while trying to appear casual.
Some pulled out phones, obviously taking photos when they thought I wasn't looking.
Lily's group was ahead of me, blocking the way to my next class.
I took a deep breath, ready to face whatever this new chapter had in store.
I hesitated, wondering if I should try to push past them or wait for them to move.
Ava stood a few feet away, her eyes fixed on me as she waited for my decision.
The hallway was crowded with students, and Lily's friends were still blocking the way.
Ava's offer hung in the air, and I could feel the weight of curious eyes on us.
I glanced down at my schedule, then at the unfamiliar hallway numbers.
Among the Girls
The bell would ring soon, and I didn't want to be late again.
Despite the tension between Lily and Ava, I stepped away from the popular crowd and walked toward Ava.
"Yeah, thanks. I have Chemistry next."
Ava nodded, a small smile playing on her lips as she turned to lead the way.
We walked side by side, and I noticed how quickly Ava moved.
Her strides were long and purposeful, taking us down less crowded corridors.
The whispers faded as we took a shortcut through an empty stairwell, the sound of our footsteps echoing against concrete walls.
Ava pointed out landmarks along the way - the library, the science wing, the cafeteria - in short, direct sentences.
The hallway opened up into a wider corridor, lined with lockers and classrooms.
Ava stopped in front of a door marked "Lab 3," and I pulled out my schedule to double-check.
"Thanks for showing me around," I said, glancing up at her.
"It's a lot to take in."
Ava snorted, rolling her eyes.
"You think you're overwhelmed? Try being the only girl in an all-boys school."
Among the Girls
I laughed, feeling some of the tension ease away.
"Yeah, I guess that's true. It's just... everyone's staring at me."
Ava shrugged, her gaze drifting down the hallway.
"I'm used to it. People stare at me here too. But I don't let it get to me."
We stood there for a moment, and without an audience of curious onlookers, our conversation flowed more easily.
Among the Girls
But then the bell rang, and Ava pushed open the door to the chemistry lab. "You'd better hurry," she said as I hesitated in the doorway.
"Mrs. Peterson hates it when people are late."
I checked my watch - two minutes until the next bell.
"Right behind you."
