MidReal Story

Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

I was walking down the corridor when I felt eyes on me.
I mean, I was pretty used to it.
I was the only boy in an allgirls school.
Transferred here for family reasons.
Of course, I'd get attention.
The entire student body would be talking about me.
It was kind of expected.
"Hey, are you the new student? I heard we got a boy this time. Is that you?"
I heard someone say behind me.
"Hey, wait up!"
They sounded urgent and I slowed down, waiting for them to catch up.
"Hi, I'm Lily Chen. Senior. Nice to meet you."
A girl with long black hair in a ponytail waved at me.
She must have been one of the seniors at the top of the popularity ladder.
I could tell by the way she carried herself.
Confident and ambitious, yet protective of her friends and people she cared about.
"Hi, I'm Ethan Logan. Nice to meet you too," I said with a smile and a wave back.
"Welcome to our school then. Do you have any classes now? We just finished our morning lessons and have a long break before our afternoon classes start."
Among the Girls
"No, I don't have any classes now. I'm still getting familiar with the school."
"Well, let me show you around then," she said.
She started walking down the hallway and I followed her.
The hallway was pretty crowded and everyone was staring at us.
I could hear whispers and giggles from the other students.
Lily seemed to part the sea of people as she walked through them.
She pointed out different classrooms and facilities as we walked.
I noticed that she was steering me away from certain areas, like the east wing of the school.
I tried to look that direction but she quickly drew my attention to the library entrance.
"Look, that's our library. It's a great place to study."
Among the Girls
I looked through the window and saw a girl sitting alone, reading a book.
She had short red hair and didn't seem interested in all the commotion outside.
Unlike everyone else, she wasn't staring at me.
Lily noticed where my attention was and gripped my arm tightly, pulling me toward the cafeteria. "You should meet my friends," she said with a smile that seemed a bit forced.
"Why are you avoiding the east wing?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
Among the Girls
Lily hesitated for a moment, then leaned in closer and whispered, "There's something you need to know about that part of the school."
Her eyes darted around before she continued, "It's where they say the ghost of a former student still lingers."
I paused at the entrance to the east wing.
The corridor stretched out before me, dimly lit by flickering fluorescent lights.
The air was stale and the worn linoleum floor seemed to absorb the sound of footsteps.
A few students hurried past, clutching their books tightly and avoiding eye contact.
I took a step forward, but Lily grabbed my arm, her fingers digging into my sleeve.
Among the Girls
"We really shouldn't," she warned, glancing nervously at a closed classroom door marked 3-E.
Through its clouded window, I caught a glimpse of movement - a flash of red hair.
