MidReal Story

Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

The moment I stepped out of my car and his eyes landed on me, the entire campus came to a standstill.
Literally.
My transfer to this school was inevitable.
The entire student body knew about the new student joining them, but no one had any clue who I was or what I looked like.
The sudden appearance of the mysterious 'he' sparked a flurry of excitement amongst the student council, particularly amongst the girls.
I mean, this school didn't just accept girls.
It was an allgirls school.
The entire student body had been talking about my transfer for weeks now, and the moment they finally got to see me—well, let's just say their imaginations didn't quite do me justice.
My height and my messy brown hair were definitely the first things that people noticed about me.
I guess I could consider myself lucky that no one had figured out my identity yet.
"Who's that guy? Omigod, is he a new student? He's so hot! I want to get into his pants!"
"Is that the guy who's transferring here? He's got some serious abs going on…"
"He's so cute! I wonder if he's single…"
I couldn't help but smirk as I listened to the various conversations going on around me.

I adjusted the strap of my backpack over my shoulder and deliberately slowed down my pace, letting the whispers wash over me.
The group of girls huddled near the water fountain caught my eye.
They weren't even trying to be subtle about their stares.
One of them, a blonde with perfectly curled hair, kept nudging her friends and pointing at me.
I made eye contact with her, held it for a moment, then gave her a slow, confident wink.
Among the Girls
The reaction was immediate.
Squeals erupted from the group, faces turning red.
The blonde dropped her textbook with a loud clatter.
A teacher poked her head out of the nearby classroom, frowning at the commotion.
I chuckled to myself as I continued on my way.
I had a feeling that this was going to be a very interesting school year.
The hallway was crowded, and I had to weave around groups of giggling students.
Some of them were trying to be sneaky with their phones, taking pictures of me as I walked by.
The blonde girl from earlier caught up to me, her cheeks still flushed.
"Hi," she said breathlessly.
"I'm Sarah. You're the new guy, right?"
I nodded, smiling at her.
"Yeah. Ethan Logan."
She grinned back.

"So, Ethan, what brings you here? I heard you transferred from Lincoln High."
I shrugged, "Yeah. It's a long story."
But before I could continue, a tall girl with short brown hair and a stern expression approached us.
She was wearing a white shirt with the school's emblem on it, so I assumed she was a teacher.
"Sarah," she said firmly.
"Is this how we greet new students?"
Sarah looked down at her feet, "Sorry, Ms. Johnson."
Ms. Johnson turned to me.
"And you are…?"
I extended my hand.
"Ethan Logan. Nice to meet you."
She shook my hand briefly.
"Welcome to the school. If you'll excuse me, I need to talk to Sarah for a moment."
I nodded and started to walk away, but Ms. Johnson called out to me again.
"Ethan? You might want to hurry up and get to your first class. The bell's about to ring." I gave her a thumbs up and continued on my way.

Just then, the fire alarm went off with a loud shriek.
Sarah jumped, startled, and dropped her phone on the floor with a clatter.
Without thinking, I reached down to pick it up—only for another student's foot to kick it across the hallway in the chaos of people rushing for the exits.
"Shit," Sarah muttered as she watched her phone slide across the floor.
I darted between the students, keeping my eyes on the phone as it skidded across the polished floor.
Girls bumped into me from all sides, but I managed to weave through them, following the evacuation protocols.
The phone finally stopped near a row of lockers, and I lunged forward to grab it before someone stepped on it.
I checked the screen for cracks, but it was still intact—although there was a new scratch on the case.
The flow of students pushed me back towards Sarah, who was standing anxiously by the water fountain.
Among the Girls
I extended my hand with her phone, and she snatched it up, clutching it to her chest.
"Thanks," she said breathlessly, her eyes wide.
The hallway was emptying rapidly, and I could hear the sound of sirens outside.
Then, a voice came over the PA system, cutting through the chaos.
"Attention students, this is a false alarm. Please remain calm and return to your classrooms in an orderly fashion."
The fire alarm stopped with a jarring suddenness, leaving an awkward silence in its wake.
Sarah looked down at her phone, then back up at me.
She seemed relieved but also embarrassed.
I shrugged, "No big deal."
The crowd of students that had been pushing for the exits was now reversing direction, bumping into each other as they tried to navigate back inside.
I stepped aside to let them pass, but Sarah grabbed my sleeve.
