MidReal Story

Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

I was walking down the hallway when I heard a lot of whispers.
I wasn't paying much attention to it until I heard what they were saying.
"Is that the new boy? I heard he was transferred here because of family problems."
"I don't know. It's rumoured that he's going to be in our grade."
"I want him to be in my grade. He's so hot!"
"Like, what? I don't think he's that hot. His hair is so messy."
"Maybe it's because he just got out of bed or something."
I couldn't help but laugh at their comments.
I was a little curious about what they looked like, so I turned my head and looked at them.
They were all sophomores, and I knew all of them.
One of them was a freshman, and she was the only one I didn't know.
The group of girls stared at me, their mouths hanging open in shock.

I stopped in the middle of the hallway and looked at them.
The freshman had a nervous expression on her face, and she was clutching her schedule tightly in her hands.
The other girls were looking at me with curious expressions on their faces.
I noticed that the freshman was glancing between her schedule and the room numbers, as if she was trying to figure out where she needed to go.
I could tell that she was feeling a little overwhelmed, so I decided to go over and help her out.
The other girls fell silent as I walked towards them, their eyes fixed intently on me.
The freshman's eyes widened when she saw me coming towards her, and she took a half-step back, bumping into her friends.
I stopped a few feet away from them and smiled.
"Hi. Do you need some help finding your classes?"
The sophomore girls exchanged meaningful looks with each other, and some of them giggled behind their hands.

The freshman looked at me nervously, then slowly extended her schedule towards me.
I took the wrinkled schedule from her and examined it.
Room 204 - Ms. Parker's English class.
I looked up and saw that the sophomores were staring at us intently, their whispers growing louder as they continued to gossip.
I knew where Room 204 was because I had seen it on my orientation tour yesterday.
I glanced over at the freshman's face and saw that she was watching me nervously.

"Your classroom is right over there," I said, pointing down the hallway.
She flinched when my hand brushed against hers, and I heard giggles from the sophomore girls behind me.
