Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move.
Me: This is going to be... interesting.
School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?"
I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students.
"You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

When I walked into the auditorium, every single head turned in my direction.
I mean, literally every single head.
The entire room fell silent and all eyes were locked on me.
Every single pair of female eyes was locked on me.
I guess that’s what happens when you’re the only guy in an allgirls school.
I smiled, waving at the sea of girls, not that I wasn’t flustered by all the attention, but I’ve learned to adapt quickly.
When you’re a magnet for attention, you either learn to deal with it or become a recluse.
I chose the former because I’m a nice guy and I don’t want to be a creep that lurks in the shadows.
"Um, hello. I’m Ethan Logan and I’ll be joining your school this semester."
My voice echoed throughout the auditorium and I was met with more silence.
A slow trickle of applause began, starting from a group of juniors in the front row.
The juniors were followed by the sophomores and then finally the freshmen.
I guess it’s like how they always say: the higher your seniority, the more willing you are to take risks.
"Okay, thanks guys. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming."
I nodded at Ms. Taylor who stood at the front of the auditorium.
She was the one who’d asked me to introduce myself.
I descended the steps of the auditorium, my footsteps echoing throughout the room.
Every step I took, I felt hundreds of eyes on my back.
I scanned the rows for an empty seat, trying to find somewhere to sit.
I guess it’s not every day that a new student joins an allgirls school and I’m sure everyone is curious about me.
"Welcome to our school. You’re going to be the only boy here," a voice said.
It was a voice, not a person.
It was a voice that came from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
It sounded almost too smooth, almost robotic.
"Welcome to our school. You’re going to be the only boy here. You’d better watch out. The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy or will you cause chaos?" I looked around me but couldn’t see who had spoken.
The other students were looking around as well, confused by who was speaking.
I shrugged it off and continued searching for an empty seat.
Then I saw her.
Her hair was a bright shade of red that I’d never seen before.
She was sitting in the middle of a row with no one else around her—there were three empty seats on either side of her like she was some kind of pariah.
She was staring down at her hands in her lap like she didn’t want anyone to notice her.
I walked down the aisle and stopped at her row, gesturing to the empty seat beside her.
She looked up at me with surprise written all over her face.
She looked around us like she wasn’t sure if I was really talking to her or not. "Um, is this seat taken?"
I asked, pointing to the empty seat beside her.
She shook her head, looking back down at her hands in her lap like she didn’t want me to see how much I affected her.
"Great, thanks."
I took my backpack off my shoulders and placed it on the floor beside my feet as I sat down in the empty seat.
Just as I was about to take out my notebook and pencil from my backpack, someone grabbed my wrist tightly in their grip.
I turned around and saw a girl standing in the aisle beside me with a black ponytail that reached down past her waist.
She was staring at me with a warning in her eyes.
I looked around us and saw that everyone had stopped talking and was watching what was happening.
I glanced between her and the red-haired girl I’d chosen to sit beside, who was now staring at us with narrowed eyes.
The girl’s grip on my wrist loosened, but her eyes never left mine.
She smiled at me, but it wasn’t a friendly smile.
It was more like a warning.
I tried to pull my hand back, but she held it for one more second before releasing me.
As she did, her fingers brushed against my palm in a deliberate way—like she was trying to send me a message.
"Be careful who you choose to sit with," she whispered, her voice low enough that only I could hear.
The red-haired girl finally spoke, her voice soft but firm, "Don't worry about her; she just likes to play games."
I nodded slowly, trying to process what had just happened, "Thanks for the heads-up... I think."
