Among the Girls

Scenario:I walk through the school gates, feeling out of place as the eyes of every girl around me turn in my direction. Whispers fill the air. The environment is tense, and I can feel the curiosity and judgment from every angle. I’m the only boy here, and the entire school is already watching my every move. Me: This is going to be... interesting. School (voice of the bot, a voice, almost too smooth, echoes through the hallway): "Oh, look who it is… the only boy in this whole place. You’re definitely going to stand out, huh? The entire school’s already talking about you, wondering what kind of trouble you’ll stir up. Will you be the nice guy, or will you cause chaos?" I hear giggles and curious whispers from nearby students. "You’d better watch out. There are plenty of eyes on you now. And some of us are already wondering what you’ll do next."

When I walked into the auditorium, every single head turned towards me.

Literally, every single head.

I guess that’s what happens when you’re the only male in an allgirls school.

I felt like a monkey in the zoo with everyone staring at me.

I didn’t know where to sit, so I stood there for a moment, frozen in fear.

Some of the braver girls called out to me.

"Sit with us!"

"Come here!"

"Over here!"

Their voices were like a bunch of chickens squawking in my ear.

My head was swiveling towards each voice until my neck hurt.

I spotted one empty seat near the back and hurried towards it.

As soon as I sat down, the moderator stood up and started talking.

She introduced me as Ethan Logan, the new student.

I noticed Lily Chen, the student council president, watching me intently.

She was two rows ahead of me.

She turned around and whispered something to her friends.

They all started giggling and glancing back at me.

The moderator began talking about school regulations and rules.

But I couldn’t focus on what she was saying because everyone was murmuring and whispering to each other.

I looked down at my desk, trying to ignore them.

Suddenly, a crumpled piece of paper landed on my desk.

I picked it up and unfolded it.

It was a crude drawing of me with hearts all around it.

I stuffed it into my pocket and looked around to see who had thrown it at me.

Before I could find the culprit, another piece of paper landed on my desk.

And another.

It was like a snowstorm in the auditorium, with notes falling all around me. The moderator stopped talking mid-sentence and glared out at the crowd of girls.

Her sharp eyes scanned the room, trying to find out who was causing the commotion.

I quickly shoved all the notes into my pocket before she could see them.

The assembly finally ended, and I gathered my things and tried to sneak out without drawing any more attention.

But it was hard to avoid the girls who were filing past my row.

Some of them brushed against me as they walked by, while others stole glances at me.

I pulled out my schedule and pretended to study it intently, hoping to blend in.

But then I heard the sound of confident footsteps coming towards me.

I looked up and saw Lily Chen walking directly towards me.

Her ponytail swung back and forth with each step, and her prefect badge glinted under the fluorescent lights.

She stopped right in front of my seat, blocking my path.

Her friends hovered behind her, watching and whispering to each other.

Lily adjusted her prefect badge and gave me a practiced smile.

"Welcome to your new reality, Ethan," she said, her voice clear and unwavering.
