I don’t know what I expected to find when I went to check on Aaron, but it wasn’t this.
He’s in the middle of his living room, on his knees, with his head thrown back and his eyes closed.
His hands are fisted at his sides, and he’s breathing hard, like he’s just run a marathon.
I can smell him from here, and it’s not just the sweat that clings to his skin.
It’s the musk of a wolf in heat, and it makes my mouth water.
I’ve never wanted anyone as badly as I want him right now.
I’m not sure how long I stand there, staring at him, before he finally opens his eyes and looks up at me.
"Spencer," he says.
"Aaron," I reply.
Alpha's Mentor: A Werewolf in the BAU
His voice is strained, barely more than a whisper.
I take a step closer, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Aaron, you need to focus," I say, trying to keep my voice steady.
He nods, but his eyes are wild, filled with a mix of fear and determination.
I can see the muscles in his arms twitching, fighting against the transformation.
"Listen to my voice," I instruct, kneeling beside him.
I place a hand on his shoulder, feeling the heat radiating from his body.
"You're stronger than this," I continue. "You can control it."
Aaron's body convulses, and he lets out a low growl.
I tighten my grip on his shoulder, grounding him with my touch.
"Stay with me," I urge. "Focus on my voice."

He takes a shuddering breath, and for a moment, his eyes clear.
But then another wave of pain hits him, and he doubles over, clutching his stomach.
I move closer, wrapping an arm around his back to support him.
"You've got this," I whisper in his ear. "I'm right here with you."
Aaron's breathing is ragged, each exhale coming out as a growl.
I can feel the tension in his body, the struggle to maintain control.
"Think about something else," I suggest. "Anything that makes you happy."
He closes his eyes, and for a moment, I think he's going to lose it completely.
But then he takes another deep breath and nods.
"I... I can do this," he says through gritted teeth.
"Yes, you can," I affirm. "Just keep focusing."

The room is thick with tension, every second stretching into an eternity.
Aaron's body convulses again, but this time he manages to stay upright.
I keep talking to him, offering calm words and grounding touches.
Slowly but surely, the tremors begin to subside.
His breathing evens out, and the wild look in his eyes starts to fade.
"That's it," I say softly. "You're doing great."
He looks up at me, sweat dripping down his face.
"Thank you," he whispers. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
"You don't have to worry about that," I reply. "I'm not going anywhere."
For a moment, we just sit there in silence, both of us catching our breath.
But then Aaron stiffens again, a low growl escaping his lips.
I look up and see shadows moving outside the window.
Alpha's Mentor: A Werewolf in the BAU
It's Derek Morgan, his eyes glowing with a predatory intensity.
"Reid, we need to talk," he growls, stepping closer.
Aaron tenses beside me, still raw from his transformation.
"What are you doing here, Morgan?" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady.
Derek's gaze shifts to Aaron, and he narrows his eyes.
"There's a rogue pack moving in on our territory," Derek says. "And they know about Hotch."
Fear and anger surge through me.
I grip Aaron's shoulder tighter, feeling the tension in his muscles.
"We need to prepare," I say, my voice firm. "This isn't over."
Aaron looks at me, his eyes still wild but more focused now.
"What do we do?" he asks, his voice hoarse.
Derek steps forward, his presence commanding the room.
"We need to gather the others," he says. "We can't face them alone."
I nod, my mind racing with plans and contingencies.
"We'll need weapons," I say. "And a safe place to regroup."

Derek's eyes flicker with approval. "Already ahead of you," he says. "I've got a stash nearby."
Aaron struggles to his feet, leaning heavily on me for support.
"I can fight," he says, determination etched on his face.
I shake my head. "You're not ready," I say gently. "You need to rest."
He opens his mouth to argue, but Derek cuts him off.
"Reid's right," he says. "You won't be any good to us if you're not at full strength."
Aaron's shoulders slump, but he nods reluctantly.
"Fine," he mutters. "But I'm not sitting this out entirely."
I give him a reassuring squeeze. "We'll find a way for you to help," I promise.
Derek moves towards the door, glancing back at us.
"Let's go," he says. "Time is running out."
I help Aaron to the couch, making sure he's comfortable before following Derek outside.
The night air is cool and crisp, a stark contrast to the tension inside the house.
Derek leads the way through the shadows, moving with a predator's grace.
"We need to be quick," he says over his shoulder. "They could strike at any moment."

We reach a small shed hidden behind a cluster of trees.
Derek unlocks it and pushes the door open, revealing an arsenal of weapons inside.
"Take what you need," he says.
I grab a couple of guns and some ammunition, my mind already strategizing our next move.
"We'll set up a perimeter around the house," I say. "Make sure they can't get close without us knowing."
Derek nods in agreement. "Good plan," he says. "I'll take the north side."
We work quickly and efficiently, setting up traps and securing the area.
The night is eerily quiet, every rustle of leaves putting me on edge.
As we finish our preparations, Derek turns to me.
"Reid," he says quietly. "Are you ready for this?"
I meet his gaze, feeling the weight of responsibility settle on my shoulders.
"I have to be," I reply.
A howl pierces the silence, sending chills down my spine.
"They're here," Derek says grimly.
I raise my weapon, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Let's do this," I say.
We move into position, ready for whatever comes next.

"Reid, we need to talk," Jennifer says, stepping closer.
Her voice is steady, but her eyes betray concern.
"The rogue pack is closer than we thought," she continues, glancing at the window.
I nod, feeling the tension rise.
Aaron, still pale and shaky, tries to stand tall.
"We have no time," he mutters, gripping the table for support.
Derek returns with more weapons, his expression grim.
"They're here," he announces.
My heart pounds as we hear growls outside.
I lock eyes with Aaron.
"Stay behind me," I order, ready to defend our territory.
The growls grow louder, and shadows flicker outside the windows.
Jennifer moves to the door, peering out cautiously.
"They're circling us," she whispers.
Aaron takes a deep breath and straightens up, despite his obvious exhaustion.
"I can help," he insists.
"No," I say firmly. "You need to stay safe."
He looks like he wants to argue but then nods reluctantly.
Derek hands me a shotgun and a belt of ammunition.
"Let's make sure they regret coming here," he says.

I nod in agreement and take position by the front door.
The first wolf lunges at the window, shattering glass everywhere.
Jennifer fires her gun, hitting it squarely in the chest.
It drops instantly.
"One down," she mutters.
Aaron watches from behind the couch, his eyes wide with a mix of fear and determination.
Another wolf charges through the broken window.
I fire my shotgun, the recoil jolting through my arms as the wolf collapses.
"We need to push them back!" Derek shouts over the chaos.
He moves towards the back door, firing at another wolf that tries to break in.
The room fills with snarls and gunfire.
Jennifer reloads quickly and takes out another wolf trying to breach from the side.
"Keep them out!" she yells.
Aaron's breathing is ragged as he watches us fight.
I glance back at him briefly.
"Stay down!" I shout.
A massive wolf crashes through the front door, its eyes glowing with rage.
I aim and fire, but it keeps coming.
Derek rushes forward and tackles it to the ground, wrestling with it fiercely.
Jennifer fires at another wolf approaching from behind me.

"Spencer! Watch out!" she screams.
I spin around just in time to see a wolf lunging at me.
I pull the trigger, and it falls inches away from me.
Derek finally manages to subdue the massive wolf he's fighting.
He stands up, panting heavily.
"We can't keep this up forever," he says grimly.
More wolves gather outside, their eyes glowing in the darkness.
"We need a new plan," Jennifer says urgently.
Aaron struggles to his feet again.
"I can draw them away," he says determinedly.
"No!" I shout. "It's too dangerous."
But Aaron shakes his head stubbornly.
"If I don't do something now, they'll overrun us."
Before I can stop him, he moves towards the door.
"Aaron!" I yell.
He turns back for a moment, his eyes locking with mine.
"Trust me," he says softly before stepping outside into the night.
The growls intensify as Aaron faces off against the rogue pack alone.
My heart races as I watch him disappear into the darkness.
"We have to help him," Jennifer says urgently.
Derek nods grimly. "Let's move."
