I woke up with a start when I heard a commotion outside my room.
I quickly got up and went out.
I saw Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Applejack in the living room.
Their faces were long when they saw me.
"What happened?"
I asked them.
They looked at each other before answering me.
"They are gone," Rainbow Dash said.
I was confused.
"Who is gone?"
I asked them.
My heart started racing when I saw their faces.
"They are gone Princess Celestia and Princess Luna," Fluttershy said.
My heart sank when I heard that.
I quickly ran to the throne room to see if it was true.
When I got there, it was empty.
There was no one there to sit on the thrones.
I saw Starlight Glimmer crying when I saw her.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle, I am so sorry," Starlight said.
"I don't know what happened. They just disappeared," Starlight said.
I sighed when I heard that.
I knew that Princess Celestia and Luna were my guardians.
I didn't know what to do without them.
"I am so sorry, your highness," Pinkie Pie said when she saw me.
"We were trying to tell you but you didn't give us a chance," Pinkie said.
"It is alright," I said to Pinkie Pie.
A Princess Cupid
I stood there in the empty throne room.
My hooves were planted firmly on the crystal floor.
I took slow, deep breaths and tried to focus.
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
I was starting to panic, but I knew I couldn't let that happen.
My friends gathered around me in a protective circle.
They were all looking at me with worried expressions.
I lowered my head and closed my eyes.
I could feel their magic pulsing around me, trying to calm me down.
I took a few more deep breaths and slowly opened my eyes.
A Princess Cupid
"I need to focus," I said to them.
"I need to see if I can find them."
My friends nodded in agreement and stepped back to give me some space.
I took a few more deep breaths and closed my eyes again.
This time, I focused on my magic.
I could feel it building inside of me, starting as a small spark and growing into a flame.
As the magic built, I could feel it coursing through my body, filling me with its power. I opened my eyes and saw that they were glowing brightly with a purple light.
The light grew brighter and brighter until it was almost blinding.
I could feel the magic building up inside of me, preparing for something big.
Suddenly, I felt a surge of energy run through my body and my wings unfolded from my back.
They stretched out to their full span, filling the room with their presence.
The light emanating from them was so bright that it filled the entire room.
As the light faded away, I saw that I was no longer in the throne room.
I was standing in a dark cavern, surrounded by towering walls of crystal.
The air was cold and damp, and I could hear the sound of dripping water echoing off the walls. In front of me, I saw two silhouettes standing in the distance.
They were too far away for me to make out any features, but I knew who they were immediately.
It was Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.
As I watched, they turned towards me and began walking in my direction.
But as they got closer, I realized that something was wrong.
Their movements were stiff and unnatural, and their eyes glowed with an otherworldly light. Suddenly, a dark figure emerged from the shadows behind them.
A Princess Cupid
The figure raised its hand, and everything went black.
The purple light fades and I'm back in the throne room.
My hooves are trembling on the cold marble floor.
The magical surge drains from my body, leaving me weak and shaking.
I can feel my wings, heavy and limp, dragging against the floor behind me.
My friends rush towards me, their faces filled with concern.
Rainbow Dash reaches me first, but I can barely focus on her face.
The vision of Celestia and Luna being controlled replays in my mind, making it hard to concentrate on anything else.
I try to speak, to warn them about what I saw, but my voice is barely a whisper.
"Twilight, what did you see?" Rainbow Dash asks urgently, her eyes wide with worry.
"Celestia and Luna... they're being controlled by something," I manage to say, my voice shaky.
A Princess Cupid
"Controlled? By who?" Applejack demands, her voice a mix of fear and determination.
My legs wobble as I try to stand, and Rainbow Dash quickly moves to support me with her wing.
I lean against her, grateful for the extra stability.
"I don't know," I admit, my voice still weak.
"I only saw a dark figure... it was controlling them."
The throne room starts spinning around me, the marble columns blurring together in a dizzying whirlwind.
I can hear my friends' voices, but they're distant and muffled, like they're coming from far away.
My wings go completely limp at my sides, and I feel myself swaying unsteadily on my hooves.
"Twilight, what do you mean by controlled?" Applejack asks again, her voice cutting through the fog in my mind.
I try to focus on her face, but it's hard to keep my eyes open.
My head is pounding with each heartbeat, and I feel like I'm going to pass out at any moment. "I... I don't know," I manage to say, my voice barely above a whisper.
A Princess Cupid
"I just saw them being controlled... by something dark."
My legs give out completely and I crumple toward the marble floor.
Rainbow Dash lunges forward with her wing extended, but she's too far away to catch me.
I hear Rarity call out my name as I fall, but it's distant and muffled.
The cold stone rushes up to meet me, and I strike the ground hard on my right side.
My wings sprawl awkwardly beneath me, feathers scattering across the polished surface.
A Princess Cupid
Pain shoots through my shoulder and hip, and I can feel the air knocked out of my lungs.
I hear the rapid hoofbeats of my friends converging around me, but I can't respond.
The room continues spinning, darkness creeping into the edges of my vision.
Through my blurred vision, I feel Rainbow Dash's strong wing slip under my left side while Applejack positions herself on my right.
They exchange quiet words, coordinating their movements.
Slowly, they lift me from the cold marble, my wings dragging limply behind.
I'm suspended between them, my weight evenly distributed as they support me.
Each step sends jolts of pain through my bruised hip, but I'm too weak to protest.
A Princess Cupid
The throne room seems to stretch endlessly before us, the distance to the plush velvet couch near the window feeling insurmountable.
Finally, we reach it, and they lower me slowly onto the cushions.
Rainbow Dash's wing remains firm against my back until I'm fully settled.
I rest against the velvet cushions, my body still weak from the vision and the fall.
The room continues to spin around me, and I close my eyes to try and steady myself.
Suddenly, the floor beneath us starts to shake.
The massive crystal chandelier above our heads sways back and forth, its chains creaking ominously.
My friends gasp and back away, but I notice something - the purple glow of my horn is reflecting off the crystals.
My magic is responding to the danger, even if my body feels like lead.
I know I'm the only one with enough power to stabilize the chandelier before it falls.
I try to stand, but my wings splay out uselessly at my sides.
I collapse back onto the couch, my limbs too weak to support me.
"Twilight, you have to focus," Rainbow Dash urges, her voice steady but urgent.
A Princess Cupid
"I know you're exhausted, but we need you to control your magic before that thing comes crashing down."
I take a deep breath, trying to summon the strength from somewhere deep within me.
I force myself to focus through the dizziness, drawing on years of magical training.
My horn pulses with a brilliant purple light as I reach out toward the chandelier with my magic.
The massive crystal fixture continues to sway above us, each movement sending dangerous creaks through its mounting.
Sweat beads on my forehead as I carefully manipulate the magical field around it, trying to dampen its momentum.
My friends watch in tense silence, Rainbow Dash's wing still bracing my back.
A Princess Cupid
The chandelier's swings become smaller and smaller as I pour more power into stabilizing it.
As the chandelier finally steadies, I feel a sudden draining sensation throughout my body.
My horn's purple glow flickers and dies, leaving the room darker than before.
I try to summon even a spark of magic, but nothing happens.
Rarity steps forward, her own horn equally lifeless.
"When Alicorn princesses vanish or deplete their power, all magic in Equestria fades until they return or recover," she explains grimly.
A Princess Cupid
Rainbow Dash helps me sit up as panic sets in - without magic, we're truly vulnerable.
"Twilight, what does this mean for us?" Applejack asks, her voice tinged with worry.
"It means we have to find a way to restore my magic or locate the source of this drain," I reply, trying to keep my voice steady despite the fear gnawing at me.
"But how do we even start when everything's gone dark?" Rainbow Dash interjects, frustration evident in her tone.
I lean back against the velvet couch, my drained wings limp beside me.
My trembling hooves barely manage to hold up my head as I explain the gravity of our situation.
"Look," I say, my voice weak but determined.
"Just a few moments ago, my horn controlled that massive chandelier. Now..."
I lift a hoof and focus all my energy on my horn, managing only a faint flicker of sparks before it dies out.
Rainbow Dash's eyes widen in shock.
"That's it? That's all you can do?"
I nod, feeling defeated.
"But what about the princesses?" she presses.
"We have to start searching for them right now."
A Princess Cupid
A Princess Cupid
I shake my head weakly.
"My magic is the strongest in Equestria," I explain, my voice hoarse from exhaustion.
"I'm the only one who can track the princesses through magical resonance, but..."
I try casting a simple location spell, but instead of the usual brilliant purple glow, only a few faint sparkles appear before fading away.
I lean forward on the velvet couch, wincing at the bruise on my hip from my fall.
"Inside the castle vault, there are six ancient crystals," I explain to my friends.
"They're known as the Elements of Harmony, and they once channeled the most powerful magic in Equestria through the princesses."
Rainbow Dash helps me stand up, my legs shaking beneath me.
"If we can retrieve those Elements, they might give me enough power to find Celestia and Luna."
A Princess Cupid
I lead our small group down the spiral staircase toward the vault, every step feeling like a challenge with my drained magic and aching wings.
The descent is slow and painful, my wings dragging against the stone walls.
I lean heavily against the vault's crystal door, my horn flickering weakly as I attempt the unlocking spell.
The ancient mechanisms groan and resist, but I persist, trying the spell three times before the door finally slides open.
Inside, five stone pedestals hold the Elements - gleaming crystals that pulse with their own light.
The sixth pedestal stands empty.
Rainbow Dash steadies me as I stumble forward, drawn to the power of the Elements.
My crown feels warm against my head, and I reach up with a trembling hoof to touch it.
"My Element," I whisper, "Magic - it's been in my crown all along."
Applejack steps closer, her eyes wide with realization.
"Then if we combine your Element with the others, we might just have a chance to restore everything," she suggests, her voice filled with newfound hope.
"But we'll need to hurry," Rarity adds, glancing nervously at the darkening sky outside, "before whatever's causing this gets any stronger."
A Princess Cupid
I stand before the five glowing Elements, my crown pulsing with the sixth Element's power.
Leaning on Rainbow Dash for support, I explain how combining the Elements could restore my magic but would completely drain my remaining energy.
Applejack protests, concerned about my already weakened state.
I remove my crown with a shaking hoof, placing it beside the other Elements.
The crystals begin humming in resonance.
Despite Fluttershy's gentle warning about the risks, I reach out to touch the first Element.
My legs wobble as I tell them firmly that we have no choice - I can recover from exhaustion, but Equestria can't survive without magic.
Rainbow Dash grips my shoulder, her voice urgent.
"Twilight, are you sure about this? What if it doesn't work?"
I nod, determination steeling my gaze.
A Princess Cupid
"We have to try, Dash. It's our only hope."
I stand unsteadily before the Elements, drawing on my last reserves of strength.
With trembling concentration, I levitate the five crystals into a circle, my horn barely managing to sustain the glow.
The Elements begin to rotate slowly around my crown, their light intensifying with each turn.
My legs buckle, but Rainbow Dash's wing keeps me upright.
Fighting through waves of dizziness, I guide my crown to the center of the circle.
A Princess Cupid
The moment it touches the other Elements, blinding light erupts from the connection.
Magic surges through my body, making my wings snap open.
I focus all my remaining energy on merging the Elements.
Their crystalline forms blur as they spin faster around my crown.
The vault fills with pulsing light as each Element's unique power activates: Honesty's orange glow, Kindness's pink shimmer, Laughter's blue sparkle, Generosity's purple radiance, and Loyalty's red gleam.
My crown responds with brilliant white light.
Rainbow Dash steadies me as the Elements draw closer together, their individual lights merging into a single intense beam.
A Princess Cupid
A surge of warmth flows through my horn, down my spine, and into my wings.
The Elements fuse completely, releasing a massive wave of rainbow energy that spreads outward through the castle walls.
I place the merged crown back on my head, feeling its power course through my weakened body.
Rainbow Dash keeps me steady as I channel magic through my horn, searching for any remaining traces of Celestia and Luna's magical signatures.
A purple beam shoots from the crown, creating a translucent map of Equestria in the air before us.
Two golden dots pulse at the heart of the Everfree Forest.
My legs shake as I stand, but determination drives me forward.
A Princess Cupid
Rainbow Dash and Applejack flank me as we climb the spiral staircase leading out of the vault.
At the castle entrance, I spread my wings, their strength temporarily restored by the Elements' power.
The Everfree Forest looms before us, dark and forbidding.
We stand at the castle entrance, my restored magic humming through my crown, when two silhouettes emerge from the shadows of the Everfree Forest.
My heart leaps as I recognize them: Celestia and Luna.
But something is wrong about their movements.
They walk stiffly, their eyes glazed and dark.
As they draw closer, I feel the magic in my crown starting to fade.
My legs begin to shake.
The Elements' power drains from me rapidly, flowing toward the princesses like water down a drain.
Rainbow Dash catches me as I stumble, but I can't take my eyes off their unnaturally blank faces.
"Twilight, what's happening to them?" Rainbow Dash's voice is edged with panic.
"I don't know, but it's like they're being controlled," I reply, my voice trembling with fear and exhaustion.
A Princess Cupid
Applejack steps forward, her eyes narrowing. "We gotta break whatever spell's got 'em before it's too late."
