The Hidden Cave
I was hiking with my friends Max and Sarah when we found the cave.
We’d been exploring the forest for hours, and I was starting to get tired.
But then we saw it—a dark hole in the side of a cliff, almost hidden by overgrown bushes.
"Let’s check it out," I said.
Max looked at me like I was crazy.
He was always the cautious one in our group, and he didn’t like taking risks.
Sarah, on the other hand, loved adventure as much as I did.
She grinned at me and said, "I’m in."
Max sighed.
"Fine. But let’s be careful."
We made our way through the bushes and into the cave.
It was so dark inside that I couldn’t see anything at first.
The air was cool and damp, and I could hear water dripping somewhere ahead of us.
"I don’t think anyone’s been here for years," Sarah said quietly.
"It’s like some kind of secret hideaway."
Max hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
"Okay," he said slowly.
"But let’s not go too far. We don’t want to get lost down here."
With that, we turned on our flashlights and started walking deeper into the cave system.
The passage was narrow at first, but it soon opened up into a larger cavern filled with stalactites and stalagmites.
There was even an underground pool in one corner of the room, its clear blue water reflecting our flashlight beams back at us.
And on a stone altar in front of the pool… something else gleamed dully in the darkness.
"What is it?" Sarah whispered excitedly as she crept closer to take a look.
